Issalos Studios (Tereza Golden MIKE) — Hotel in Thassos Municipality

Returning to Thassos after ten years we were thrilled to see it hasn’t changed in many ways - but accommodation has definitely got better. Issalos is probably the nicest and most well equipped studios I’ve ever stayed in Greece. Stylish rooms, well designed (you can tell the co-owner is an architect as they are really well thought out), bright and spacious. We had both a triple room ground floor and mezzanine room on the second level. The mezzanine rooms are particularly nice and adults and children alike would be comfy in the twin room above the main bedroom, it’s certainly more private than a lot of mezzanine suites have stayed in. Lovely pool area (bigger pool than most we noticed) and bar. Located by a nice part of the beach with beach bars and restaurants surrounding it, Issalos is also conveniently situated. Really nice breakfast included with plenty of choice (lovely omelette!) and a special dish every day. But what makes the place extra special is the welcome and the service. The owners are friendly and helpful, professional and courteous. When it was noticed I went for a run in the mornings they were concerned I may miss breakfast and made sure to tell me if I ever did, they’d always make sure I had something when back. It’s touches like that which really make a place stand out. We are lucky enough to have holiday property abroad and the budget to holiday 7 or 8 times a year across the world. My partner in particular isn’t keen on always going back to the same places, wants to try something new each time, but he’s already said ‘we’re definitely...

We loved our stay here: the room was extremely clean - daily cleaning, clean towels, clean bedsheets; the pool area was very nice, the pool water did not have chlorine in it but the water was always clean, next to the pool there is a nice area with pillows where we spent time during the evening, it was a bit secluded so we would not bother other guests; the breakfast was wonderful, although there were some things that were constant such as the feta cheese or olives or tomatoes with cucumbers (which are a must in Greece :) ), daily we had different things such as sunny side eggs with potatoes, or cheese pie or spinach pie, also in the sweets we had different desserts daily but we also had the usual such as pancakes or croissant, it was extremely nice to have surprises daily. The location was perfect, Golden Beach is a few minutes away by walking, but the hotel is placed in a quiet place, so we had no issues with noises coming from the crowded areas, also restaurant are maximum 10 minutes away walking. The best rooms in Skala Potamias and probably some of the best studios in Thassos. New and well appointed are the key elements. The living spaces are not flashy, but elegantly presented offering the amount of comfort needed for a holiday on a Greek Island. The design strikes as a first experience but what will win your heart is the hospitality of the owners. The brother and sister take their role seriously and set out to deliver the legendary Greek hospitality at its best. The general area around the studios is pleasant and the beach is top class.
