Laios — Hotel in Thassos Municipality

Great hotel, don't be fooled by its oldish look, the hotel is in perfect condition. It's peak clean: the rooms, hallways, the garden, the pool, everything is perfectly clean and cleaned on a daily basis, well maintained. The reservation process was easy and fast. Our room was cleaned daily, the beds are very comfortable, the wardrobe has more than enough space for all of your clothes, enough towels and toiletries, the air conditioner is placed so it won't blow over the beds and it cools the room very fast. The balcony is spacious, you can dry your swimming suits and towels there. The bathroom as well was spotlessly clean and there was hot water all the time. The wi-fi has great speed in the room as well as on the pool. Our room was facing the sea, so it's interesting looking the ferries come and go. There isn't a big disturbing noise or smell from the ferries. Also the balcony doors are great and isolating outdoor noise. The hotel has its own private parking in the back, there is always available space to leave your car, plus there are shadows to park under (have in mind that parking in Limenas can be tricky, but no problem in Laios). Walking to the center is no more than 5 min, close to walk but far enough from the loud bars, and the crowd, also as you exit the hotel on the left there are several nice restaurants. Very close is the bus station from which you can go around the island, Lidl is in walking distance as well. The local beach is in walking distance as well. The pool is amazing, spacious with free sunbeds and umbrellas under the pine trees, it's cozy, never overcrowded. You can also have coffee, beer or something at a very cheap price compared to anywhere on the island (it's not mandatory to drink in order to use sunbeds). We liked it so much so we extended our stay for one more night (i wish it could be more). Last but not least the staff are amazing, they are so helpful, friendly and nice people. Overall you definitely get more than what you pay for. No downsides, I wish we had more vacation days to stay...

The hotel rooms are alright. The cleaning ladies are super nice and they clean the rooms every day. However the owners are two nosy siblings, unwelcoming and arrogant. We've spent most of the time out of the hotel but they've managed to leave such a bad impression on us in no time. The situation which depicts this hotel most accurately would be what happened to us one evening. As we didn't go to the beach that day, and the hotel pool is closed after 8 pm (why?) we've decided to sit at the table in the yard and play some cards, chat a bit and later go to bed. It was only three of us so we didn't make almost any noise nor did anything that would bother any other guest of the hotel. However, around 11 pm the male owner just passed by us, went to the powerhouse and turned off the lights we were sitting under without saying even a word to us! Keep in mind that there is no rule that you can't sit in the yard at any time you want or anything similar and that we didn't do anything that would bother any other guest of this adults only hotel. As if it weren't enoguh the owner went inside and locked the doors of the hotel, which we only found out later when we tried to enter since the owner didn't fint it necessary to say anything to us! Imagine if we hadn't brought our keys with us thinking that we don't need them since we're literally in the hotel! And even though we had our keys with us, we had to go across the parking all the way to the other side of the hotel since that's the only entrance door for which we were given the keys! Such a great disappointment and such unwelcoming staff for no reason! I don't recommend this...

I loved this hotel. At the height of the season with the busy beaches and restaurants I returned to this oasis of calm with the huge, quiet and super clean pool and gardens. It's adult only which added to the peaceful atmosphere. My room had a large sunny balcony facing the garden and a side view of the sea and port. It's right at the port and just a two minute walk from the bus station so super convenient. One reviewer thought rooms facing the port a little noisy but I didn't have any problem. You could hear some of the ferries coming in and out but not with the windows closed and they are not very loud anyway. I'd rather have Greek ferries than a lot of noisy people round the pool which you don't find at this lovely hotel. It's family owned and run and very clean. Rooms are cleaned every day and towels and bedding every two days. The air conditioning works well and so does the wifi. I rate it 10 out of 10 and recommend it to anyone who wants peace and nature at a traditional, family owned and run Greek hotel for a...
