The atmosphere was decent, yet extremely crowded and noisy both within the port and on the ferry itself. Despite this, the ferry boat was clean and well-maintained, and all areas appeared regularly serviced. The amenities onboard were a positive point, including small shops, public restrooms, and relaxation areas. These facilities were beneficial, though they did little to offset the constant noise.
Access and Signage presented some challenges; the signage around the port was not very clear, creating confusion and difficulties for passengers, especially in the lines. An additional issue was the limited number of ticket booths, which led to long waits and could benefit greatly from improvement, especially during peak times.
The staff was less than welcoming. While some assertiveness is expected due to the high noise levels, the attitude of some team members bordered on hostile. In one case, a staff member shouted at a child during disembarkation, which left a negative impression. Additionally, while staff communicated primarily through gestures when organizing cars, the approach could be improved for a better guest experience.
One memorable incident highlighted the need for better management during high-traffic times. A woman became separated from her husband as he boarded the ferry while she waited in the ticket line. Luckily, a fellow passenger helped her get in touch with him, but such scenarios might be avoidable with better...
Read moreA truly horrendous experience. The port is pure chaos & staff are very inconsiderate towards those with medical conditions or those travelling alone — the driver cannot get a ticket for the boat so if the driver is travelling with someone with a medical condition or is travelling alone they will be faced with a lot of abuse from the staff & other passengers!
Queuing for the ferry we were screamed at by 3 separate people (2 staff - 1 other passenger)
The ticket office is severely overcrowded — I am small, suffer from stress induced seizures (and therefore should not be left alone in stressful situations) and am extremely anxious and so to be forced out the car to go and buy a ticket and then be yelled at that I cannot buy a ticket yet, be trampled on by others queuing & end up having a panic attack is not okay.
I then got back in the car & after explaining to the staff my medical condition a couple allowed us to proceed to the boat with me in the passenger seat & then we were yelled at yet again by the people distributing the cars on the ferry saying I wasn’t allowed in the car. Had I got out the car and had a seizure away from my partner & on shore when he was on the boat is not a situation that would have ended well for anyone! The sheer lack of care & understanding from staff is completely unacceptable & there needs to...
Read moreOne of the most unorganized ports. Let's start from the beggining. You should guess which ticket point is selling the tickets. You should guess which boat is moving next. You should guess if the boat is full or not so not to buy a ticket for the actual one but for the next one. Once you are inside (god forbid in the subfloor) you should find the exit by your self. Of course if you manage to exit from your wehicle which is only a few centimeters from a wall or a car. When you arrive at the port, they are letting the upper vehicles out which are on the open but the ones inside are waiting to be suffocated because the subfloor is not open yet and nobody tells the drivers not to start the engines. It's a heat and smoke you are breathing and yet they are bussy with the vehicles outside. I guess one don't need the boats design...
