We thoroughly enjoyed our week-long stay. The staff were friendly and helpful. The instant we stepped out of our (free) airport transfer, Eva greeted us with a bright, warm smile. Christina was kind and professional, and she went out of her way to quickly and efficiently fix any problems we encountered. Eva and Christina set a very positive tone for our experience. All the equipment in the fitness center is brand new, and that view! We did encounter a couple of days where the fitness center was a bit of a mess; the hotel does provide a large roll of brown paper towels and a single bottle of spray disinfectant; however, they can’t be blamed for the bad behavior of some vacationers who don’t return equipment to its original location or clean up after themselves. The swimming pools are beautiful and the entire property has a calm, serene feel. We stayed in a lovely Swim-up Suite. Our patio had some sunshine and some shade all day long. Some of the rooms and suites had drying racks on their patios, but we did not. It would be nice if all patios had a rack for wet bathing suits and towels. At the Aesthesis Bar the bartenders were friendly and knowledgeable. It would be nice to see an online menu of drinks (both alcoholic and mock-tails), wines, and beers that are available. Or a printed one like that found in The Aesthesis Bar. We ate at all three restaurants: Watergarden, Pisco, and Haroub. The Watergarden, where we ate most of our meals, offered a variety of appetizers, main courses, breads, desserts, and a charcuterie room. Dinner at Pisco consists of a 12 course “tasting menu” of Peruvian Fusion cuisine. We loved every bite. Haroub offers a 12 course “tasting menu” of Levantine cuisine. The meal at Haroub, while delicious, was really too much food for us. If you want to have dinner at either Pisco and/or Haroub, we strongly suggest making reservations as soon as you arrive. My wife enjoyed a massage at the Purai Spa. Helen, her masseuse, gave her a wonderful full body massage, a whole-body moisturizing treatment, and a mini facial. Sophia, the manager, was warm, giving, and informed. We did encounter one problem; our credit cards were not accepted to pay for the spa treatment - our credit cards did work at local shops and we did also use them to pay an outstanding balance when at reception. Given this, we recommend that you bring more cash than you think you’ll need. Additional notes (good and not-so-good): Internet speed was OK, not great. Roosters crowed for about and hr each morning and afternoon. Occasionally, dogs could be heard barking. Neither could be heard inside our suite. Weather was beautiful. Glass drinking glasses and glass bottles in mini fridge should be a no-no next a pool. Our suite had 2 and 3 prong outlets, 2 USB-A ports, 2 USB-C ports. The hotel is new and they’re still working on small fixes. Great location for plane spotting. Walking to a public beach took 20 minutes. The cord for the kettle in our suite was too short. We would have liked a small table and 2 chairs (with back support) so there’s a place to sit and have morning coffee or afternoon tea or work on a laptop, etc. The day we ate a late lunch at Haroub, we witnessed contention between the a chef and the restaurant manager, something customers should not see. Cash tips: We observed a single guest slipping a server a tip very discreetly. Tip jars at bars and restaurants might be great way to let customers know that tips are accepted. Check out: After we checked out, we were allowed to have a meal at Watergarden Restaurant, a VERY generous policy. And we sat in the Aesthesis Bar and enjoyed drinks for several hours until our (free) airport...
Read moreWe arrived at the King Jason after it being open only 2 weeks so we knew there was a great risk in visiting such a new property and would encounter some hiccups and there were some. That being said, the property is beautiful, sitting perched on a hillside above the town of Tsilivi and providing stunning views to the sea. The entire resort is well appointed with many comfortable sitting or sunbathing areas along with several levels of pool areas. My daughter and I chose a swim up suite with the all inclusive option. The room did not disappoint! As mentioned in another review, there are some barking dogs nearby and crowing cockerels but you get used to it. Another area the property excels in is hospitality. The staff was lovely and accommodating even as they had to navigate thru the newness of their roles while attending to the guests. I wish I could remember everyone but thank you to Nikolas (for fixing everything that needed adjusting), Kallirroi, Andreas, Angelina, Anna, Eva and Nicoletta. Also managers Vasilios and Yannis deserve special Kudos for adding to a positive experience and GM Spyros for listening to concerns. Where King Jason falls short and/or provides misleading information on the website is in the restaurants. The Watergarden serves breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets. The cold room where cheeses, dips, and salads etc. are found is a great staple at all meals and the pastry/dessert selections are EXCELLENT! The buffet food, though varied each day, is rather average. The two a la carte restaurants, Haroub and Pisco, are not really a la carte as promoted and each only operates every other night for a limited amount of diners and only for a fixed tasting menu, which we did try for the regular and vegan menus. The tasting menus were mostly very good and plentiful with about 11 plates. BUT, at this type and quality of a resort, I and other guests I spoke with commented on how we would have liked an a la carte menu to possibly select a Mediterranean prepared mixed grill plate, nice piece of fish or tasty steak. Maybe this will change when the resort is running at full capacity. We did not utilize the spa but the views from there are the best on the property. The gym was nothing special, but adequate. We did attend a wine tasting and a tsipouro tasting that were enjoyable. A cooking class was offered, too. These were only offered once a week and with limited space so book early or show up because people did not show. There was some live music by the buffet area on 2 evenings and one morning at breakfast. It would be nice if they offered live music at the main bar perhaps in the 8:30pm to 10:30pm time frame but again maybe this will be added in the future. Dress code is a plus here as you can dress up or be very casual. In the end this property needs to adjust a bit to earn a 5 star rating so I give it 4 stars in the hopes it...
Read moreOur stay was overall pleasant, although there are some points that need improvement.
Positive: Outstanding staff: The friendly and helpful staff made our stay particularly enjoyable. Every request was fulfilled, and our needs were always addressed.
2.Excellent drinks: The cocktails were perfect, and the staff even mixed special cocktails that were not on the menu.
Dinner buffet salads: The selection of salads at the dinner buffet was excellent and offered a welcome change from the usual salads.
Nice room: Our room was very nicely decorated and provided a pleasant atmosphere.
Car rental directly at the hotel: It is possible to book rental cars directly at the hotel.
Restaurant Haroub & Pisu: Excellent food there. They always got a 12 plate menu.
Suggestions for improvement: Noisy air conditioning: The air conditioning in the room was very loud, which forced us to change rooms. In the new room, it was somewhat better but still disturbing.
Airplane noise: Airplanes fly over the hotel every 10-15 minutes, which was particularly disturbing.
Immature processes: As the hotel only opened about a month ago, the workflows are not yet perfectly established. For example, at the pool bar, you had to constantly remind the staff about orders. Sometimes you had to wait 30 minutes for drinks.
Construction: The construction of the hotel shows that it was completed quickly, which diminishes the overall impression. There are deficiencies throughout the hotel grounds.
Bright rooms at night: The rooms are very bright during the night, and for someone who needs complete darkness to sleep, the always-on emergency lighting and night light in front of the toilet were disturbing.
Breakfast selection: The breakfast was very English-oriented, with little variety in spreads, ham, and sausages. The selection could be more diverse here.
TV in the room: It seems not to be a smart TV. Netflix & Co is not available.
Pools: It seems that the pools have not been cleaned properly before being filled with water. There is dust on the lights. See pictures.
Overall, the hotel offers good potential for a pleasant stay, but there are some points that need improvement to increase the comfort and satisfaction of the guests. After these improvements this hotel is a TOP PICK. We will definetly come...
