Small simple hotel set back from the lake behind the tourist restaurants. The room we had was spacious, bright and clean, with cheerful bread spreads and curtains in traditional fabrics. The window had a great view of the volcano across the lake and it was better still from the pretty blue painted balcony, though, as usual in Guatemala, there are wires across the view. For the most stunning view go up to the roof where you have a complete panorama of the lake. Staff were smiling and friendly. The shower had had good pressure and was lovely and hot once we reminded them to switch the gas on (we were the only guests at the time). It is about 10 minutes walk from the main action in Pana and at this time of year it was pretty quiet after dark, so a tuktuk back from town is recommended if you come back late. Read moreThe hotel was very clean, and the room was nice. It was not a fancy room, but well kept, and nice traditional bedding. The location was a bit farther than I thought from the main street. It was by the water, but there is not much going on, or to see, by the water. The action is on Santander street, or directly off the street - and the hotel was a good 5-7 minute walk away, which is a bit in this town, especially if you are traveling alone. It was fine during the day, but unideal location for walking alone back at night (take a tuk tuk and you're fine)a.
