We booked the 3 day Nebaj - Todos Santos hike with them. It is a great, but difficult walk which I would recommend for the semi-adventorous traveller. Because the site lacks information I'll post some below. We asked a lot of questions online which Adrenaline quickly responded to. However sometimes the information was wrong
For the packing list you don't need a 'big backpack' which they had recommended us to take for the food. We didn't had to pack food (only snacks if you want). You eat at people their homes. A small backpack which has enough space for clothes for 3 days and water should be fine. I would recommend to bring 3-4 liters of water. After the first day, the sleeping place doesn't have water (which is what adrenaline tours said to us). The shops that you pass during the second day almost never have water, only drinks containing sugar. It is better if you have water for more than a day. You don't really need a towel, because you won't shower. Adrenaline tours offers to transfer your other luggage to Todos Santos for 130 dollar (in total, not per person). While they charged us in the end less because we were with a group, the luggage were transferred by chicken bus and came to late so we had to wait an hour. It was also not transferred to the hotel. Which is extraordinary if we laid 130 dollars.
The hike itself is amazing. Beautiful landscapes which sometimes change every hour. It is a tough hike. The first day we walked 8 hours, the last 2,5 hours was ascending. The second day we walked 8 hours as well, it is a bit easier. The third day you walk around 3 hours, or you can take a more difficult hike which takes 6 hours, but you must skip breakfast to do that hike.
You eat food and sleep at people their homes, which is an incredible experience. Most people you meet during the walk haven't seen a lot of foreigners. Our guide was kind, and explained us what happened in the civil war around 1982. For lunches and one sleeping place, he just walked in a house and asked if we could sleep or eat there. He said he wanted to call them before but he didn't have data, or signal etc. All the people were kind to us. You sleep on beds without a mattress, you will get plenty of blankets. The food is mostly spaghetti, beans and fresh tortillas. It is an...
Read moreWe used their services to book private transport from Guatemala airport to Panajachel and also shared shuttle from Antigua to El Salvador. Both had prompt responses when we needed help, drivers drove safely and were friendly. The lady at the airport was waiting for us when we arrived with a sign. The shared shuttle was a bit late but we contacted the sales representative on what’s app and he was quick to let us know not to worry and it would be here soon. The shared shuttle was a bit more expensive than competitors but you got your own seat, in good condition and it was not cramped like other vans we have taken across Central America. Crossing the border was also very quick. The driver took our passports to hand to the immigration officer and gave us entry forms to complete. There was also a money exchanger guy who offered decent rates. Toilets at border...
