Hotel Casa San Bartolo — Hotel in Sacatepéquez

My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel for two nights and we very much enjoyed it.|It’s a little far from the city shops and what not but it is still close enough to walk if you are down for an adventure.|I think it took us about 10-15 mn walk. Which isn’t bad and we felt very safe too. That hotel is also close to a local market-swap meet where we did a lot of our shopping and it is a lot cheaper then going into the Antigua stores.|The hotel itself is clean and the staff is wonderful. They are all very smiley and it seems like they are very happy to have you here.|The breakfast is great I recommend getting the pancakes- you can’t go wrong with that. Reserved this hotel on Expedia and it says "Antigua" but don't be fooled, it is down the highway from town so you cannot even walk around Antigua... LONG walk to downtown. We spent over two hours just looking for it since there is NO SIGN even saying the word "hotel" on the outside, just an address of a house and you have to ring the bell. They do not even have tortillas with breakfast. The room is simple, ugly, nothing pretty anywhere, pretty much NO garden area even though this is Antigua EVERYONE has a garden... just a hallway with some tables, nowhere to sit.... just ABSURDLY overpriced for what it is, this should cost about $10 a night. I stayed here for one night a couple days ago and I was very impressed. Personally, it was everything I was looking for. It's a minutes drive out of Antigua and it can be noisy if your room is close to the street. However, the clean, spacious up to date rooms more than make up for it.
