Reservations are worthless here during busy times! Just thought that others would like to be aware of the fact that reservations at the samsara restaurant are essentially meaningless. Since my Amiga’s Spanish is better than mine, I had her make us reservations by phone for thr evening of 01:01/2020 at 7 PM at the Samsara for a table for three. The place was so crowded that they had people waiting in line outside the door. I thought that with the reservations I would be all right. Unfortunately, even though they had a reminder notice on a board near the cashier, it seems that they gave our table to someone at 5 PM, and didn’t want to ask them to leave. To me, this is ridiculously bad business. They should have just told them by 6:45 that someone else was coming, and they just needed to pay and leave. Fortunately for me and my amigas, Pasta Nostra was also open, and we were able to get a table without reservations. I’m going to give go somewhere else for a few months. I like this restaurant, but if they won’t honor reservations, that’s a lack of customer respect I simply don’t intend to put up with. Am posting this “review“ just so that others may know that if you hope to make reservations during some busy time like Samsara, you may want to have another restaurant or two in mind, because until this restaurant changes this attitude, your reservations are likely to be as meaningless...
Read moreYummmmmy 🥲 my friend and I couldn't even decide what to "call" this place. Indian? Asian? With tacos? Amazing though! All veggie. Delicious and CHEAP smoothies, like cheaper than a bottle of water! I had the kale and peanut butter with no sugar. So yummy.
Server brought us some compliment soup- delicious. Appetizer we shared a samsara plate. Some of the best hummus ever! And the croquettes.. ah!
The wok bowl was good. It says 'sweet potato noodles' and it literally was spiraled raw potato. For some reason I thought it'd be like sweet potato flour noodles or something. It was still good, just healthier than I was looking for 😅 friend had a tempeh bowl. Also good! So much food, tons of left overs which they package nicely in earth friendly boxes 🤩
The bathroom is like a psychedelic experience. Do visit lol.
Also they have a cute little shop inside with a few food and jewelry items. Their chocolate desserts in the fridge looked good but sadly i didn't try one.
Definitely recommend for veggie and non veggie eaters alike! Def for...
Read moreOverrated in my opinion... Well, I hope we can agree to disagree. I enjoy good vegetarian food. For me, however, both my tacos (I got all three kinds) and my wife’s wak (with tofu) got tiresome very soon, much as the highly commercialized, insipid, mantra-like new wave music did. To give credit where credit is due, the staff were nice and the food was appealingly presented. However, the nicely fried leeks on each of the tacos were so tough it made the whole taco fall apart when you tried to eat it, and the avocado slices were so overripe they turned to mush when you tried to cut them. Further, the noddles and veggies in my wife’s wak were swimming in oil so that the whole dish became basically “mashed veggies and noodles about halfway through the meal.
Both dishes did, however, provide a very generous portion of lots of healthy foodstuff. Drinks seem hugely overpriced. Fortunately they provide unlimited filtered water—self serve.
Kind of a strange interior environment, not...
