Serena||The hotel is located a few blocks away from the town square. There is limited street parking in front of the hotel. Our room had a loft with a very steep staircase to bunkbeds, a TV, and shower. There was no AC so I requested fans for the first night, which worked fine. The room opened up to a central courtyard which was very noisy in the morning as other guests were gathering for breakfast. Breakfast was very simple, with two or so options to choose from Pancakes, traditional, cereal, fruit and coffee. The staff was helpful is coordinating a tour to the Pacaya Volcano, but since we had a car, we opted to drive ourselves. Once we arrived, we met a guide at the ticket office who arranged for a horse ride up/down the volcano. Read moreThis is a gorgeous haven in a wonderful city. Antigua is one of my favourite cities that I've visited and staying at Villa Serena no doubt contributed to this view. ||The hotel is located in a neighbourhood on the edge of town, rather than in the town centre. It is only 10 minute walk, but requires crossing one busy road, and can be a bit quiet in the evening, so may not be so appealing for a solo female traveler. ||The hotel itself is gorgeous with a nice-sized room, and lovely decor. There is stunning courtyard with many plants and a fountain. There are many nooks with seating and the highlight is a rooftop terrace overlooking the rooftops and surrounding mountains. ||The service is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast in the courtyard were divine. ||Antigua is a wonderful city and this is a wonderful location to explore all the city...
Read moreBeautiful villa! I loved all the flowers and greenery in the courtyard! There are many roof top terraces that were great to sit and enjoy. calming and peaceful. The villa is on a quite dead-end street which was very nice because Antigua is a hassle and bustle town. The main square was quick to walk to.
The young man at the front desk was so helpful and nice. He was quick to help and booked our volcano tour and was able to get us a taxi when needed. Upon our arrival they asked if we were celebrating anything and my husband said it was my birthday. They bought us the most delicious cake from the local bakery!
The breakfast was delicious and a nice perk to Villa Serena. Our room was very clean and stayed cool throughout the day. Definitely will stay here again next time we...
