Casa de Cafe B&B — Hotel in Copán

Lovely small hotel with rooms set out on two levels overlooking the terrace areas. The top level which we were on has a terrace outside that houses the restaurant, so in the daytime you could come back to your room to find a table of diners in front of your door!!||Good sized clean room with one double bed. No aircon just a fan, we prefer this but others may not. No hairdryer in room. The terrace had good views over the countryside. Outside was a seat and hammocks.||Staff lovely but very little English spoken by them, however, still managed to get our order understood. The owner speaks English if around.||Breakfast was 3 choices + extras available - Eggs/bread/fruit/juice/tea & coffee all cooked to order.||We had lunch one day which was fine, just a snack. Then evening meal another night with a bottle of wine on the terrace, Idyllic. We stayed in Copan Ruinas for 3 nights. I originally booked a family room at Terramaya Boutique hotel (same owner as Casa de Cafe) but they were booked so they offered me to stay at their townhouse, Casa de Santiago. Casa de Santiago is a beautiful townhouse right across Casa de Cafe and ideal for large groups or families (2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms). The block is quiet, peaceful and beautiful. We had a delicious breakfast every morning at Casa de Cafe overlooking the landscape (breakfast was included in rate- also included in rate was daily maid service). My wife and I were mistakenly booked by our tour company at a very nice sister property with a bed too small for us. I am 6' tall and my wife uses a machine to help her breathe at night. We couldn't make that work for us. We were desperate. The proprietor, Howard told us he could help us out. He found 2 rooms at this wonderful sister property and we were transported a few blocks away to this beautiful place. Our rooms were next to each other and were beautiful, clean and comfortable. We had a very good dinner at the hotel and a fabulous breakfast the next morning. We were accommodated warmly. Even though the mistake was on the part of the tour company, he even comped us for the extra room! I highly recommend...
