14.838111°, -89.157129° The first ViaVia was founded in Heverlee, Belgium in June 1995. At the same time, the idea of fair travel and facilitating meeting others needed to go international. In December 1995 ViaVia opened its doors in Yogyakarta, Indonesia to connect people, realise sustainable tourism and intercultural entrepreneurship and contribute to a more open-minded & enjoyable world where people, planet, prosperity, partnerships, peace and pleasure are in harmony. Around the world, you will find 17 ViaVias. Previously, we visited ViaVia in Yogyakarta and Entebbe.
ViaVia in Copan is a café, hotel (5 private rooms in the back) and arranges hiking and city tours. Their Copan city tour by Gert the owner is famous.
In December 2024, we ordered grilled pieces of chicken breast with salad and fries and Bali chicken. The Bali chicken tasted much better than de chicken breast. We enjoyed the Belgian witbier and German weissenbier on tap. The atmosphere inside was very nice.
For a nice atmosphere and good beer, head to ViaVia in Copan....
Read moreCame here as a group twice. Didn’t eat the first time as I was only thirsty. Second time was nice. So this review is on my second visit. I found the bread a little stodgy and instead of trying to open it and stuff with the meat, I tore it carefully to place on food and mop up the sauce. Service was good and the women very helpful. A smile goes a long way. Notes:Toilets are clean. Lots of dogs enjoying the sunshine out the front. Service was reasonably fast seeing as we arrived at 11am. The wifi wasn’t working but previously we’d had good reception here. Well...
Read moreAs a combination of hotel, restaurant and travel agency (which is sometimes a lot to manage!), I have to say that Via Via is a great example of doing the work the right way. We ordered several trips they offer, a shuttle, and tried their food. All of it was great. The food itself was surprisingly really good, despite the fact, that the options are wide and the prices not that high. Gerardo, the owner of Via via, is extremely kind and comunnicative. He will give you all the information about everything you need and want to know - talking about Honduras, the beer the restaurant offers or city of Copan Ruinas itself. So 5/5, thank...
