Don Udo's Bed & Breakfast — Hotel in Copán

When we first arrived we were impressed because the courtyard was lovely and our room was clean and spacious.|Sadly things went downhill from there.|To begin with there was no wifi. When we asked we were told it was do to the storm however we were there for 3 nights and it never came on more than a moment or two.|The water was a light brown color when we arrived though it did not have a smell.|The water went out completely twice during our stay, once all night and well into the next morning. When it came back on it was the color of dark coffee.|At checkout the staff on duty did not know how to actually check people out ( this was at 8 a.m) and had to call someone in to do it making us wait. Luckily we had a private driver as if we had group transportation we would have missed our ride.|At no time were we offered any sort of discount for any of this.|The second star is for the large room, great a.c and surprsingly good meal at their restaurant.|Hopefully the issues can be addressed as Don Udos has potential but as it was our stay was...

⚠️ Warning to anyone thinking about staying at Hotel Don Udo's... I was robbed while staying there. The hotel is secure and there was always staff in the reception area whenever I came and went. My room was always locked when I left, so whoever went into my room had to have a key. I keep emergency money well hidden in my luggage and I'm meticulous with how I pack, so that means that the person who went through my things had to carefully repack everything and they didn't take all the cash, most likely hoping that I wouldn't notice it gone. What is upsetting as much as being robbed is the feeling of being violated by someone going through my things. If this can happen to me, it has most likely happened before and will happen again. It's sad because I had planned to write a really glowing review before...

Terribly disappointing. ||Website makes the rooms look wonderful, was booked by travel company and excited to stay. That was not our reality…||Terrible room given to us (big party of US staying so maybe they got the fancy rooms??). Did not at all resemble the lovely pictures on the website.||No bedside table or lamp, one harsh overhead light and extremely noisy ac unit. Weird combo of furniture in the hall, felt like we’d been put in a storage cupboard. Realised when going to bed not even given a top sheet, tried to find help but pitch black and impossible. Final disappointment was two metal screws in the perfect place to hit your head in bed…why?||So...
