We had a wonderful stay at the Blue Roatan Resort, a charming boutique hotel perched on a hill just a short 2-minute walk down to the beach club. The beach club is where you'll find the infinity pool and restaurant, both offering fantastic amenities. Breakfast, included in the rate, was a highlight, with a nice variety of made-to-order options to choose from. You can also enjoy lunch at the beach front restaurant, which serves delicious food while you relax by the water.

The sunsets at the beach club are absolutely breathtaking, and we loved watching the vibrant scarlet macaws fly overhead during both breakfast and sunset. The club also has a beautiful dock, perfect for unwinding and soaking in the scenery. If you're looking to explore further, a water taxi from the dock will take you to West End or West Bay for just $5 per person, which is incredibly convenient.

The rooms at Blue Roatan are bright, clean, and well-appointed. They were very comfortable, though the beds were a bit firm for my personal preference. Housekeeping was a little inconsistent, but overall, the rooms were a great place to relax.

The staff at the beach club truly made our stay unforgettable. Everyone was incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home. We especially want to give a special shout-out to Darlon, who was such a joy to interact with, as well as Jack, Yvette, and Maria. Javer, the tuk-tuk driver, was also a lifesaver, happily taking us up the hill whenever we were too tired to walk.

Although we only had the chance to eat at Azul once, it was a memorable experience. The food was delicious, and the service was top-notch.

The resort's location is perfect—central to everything we wanted to do. We either walked or took the water taxi when we needed a break. The Clearwater dive shop was just a minute's walk up the beach, making it incredibly convenient for our diving excursions.

Overall, we had a fantastic week at Blue Roatan Resort and would absolutely return in the future. We highly recommend it for anyone looking for a relaxing, beautiful, and well-located...

Second class customer quality and customer service

I recently stayed at this hotel with my friend to celebrate a milestone birthday where we intended to stay 5 nights. It was one of the worst experiences in my travels.

When we first checked-in, there was significant back-and-forth, as another couple just decided they would not check out of the room assigned to my friend and I. After staying one night in a different room, we were rudely informed that we needed to move a second time to accommodate this other couple. Apparently, the couple changed their minds and wanted the room we were staying in.

We refused to move rooms again, stating we would either stay in our room or leave with a full refund for the remaining nights. Shockingly, without any hesitation, the hotel chose to kick us out, clearly valuing the other customer far more than us. To add insult to injury, not only did they force us to leave, but the team lacked basic knowledge about how to conduct a refund despite working directly with an accountant.

This level of disrespect, incompetence, and unprofessionalism is unacceptable. Do yourself a favor and avoid this hotel because you could be given the second class customer service treatment.

We ended up spending just a little more money and stayed at a place that was significantly nicer, providing more value per dollar. Blue Roatan has no regard for customer service or loyalty. Stay anywhere else if you want to be treated with basic decency.

PRO: The staff at the beachfront restaurant were nice and helpful

CON: Unprofessional and incompetent front desk and admin staff Dollar value vs. quality of service disparity “free breakfast” requires a golf cart ride where tips are “encouraged” Ocean view room where you cannot see the ocean Broken safe was unusable Generally ill designed rooms: little closet space, nowhere to put things in the shower, strange...

Paradise Found!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Blue Roatan Resort, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience that left me absolutely blown away. From the moment I stepped foot on the property, I was enveloped in an aura of tranquility and luxury that set the tone for an amazing stay.

The accommodations were nothing short of impressive. My room was meticulously designed with a blend of modern elegance and island charm. Every detail seemed to have been thoughtfully curated, from the (VERY) comfortable bed to the tasteful decor. The private balcony became my personal oasis for reading a book, enjoying a coffee or glass of wine or watching sunsets - it was absolute bliss!

What truly sets Blue Roatan apart is its exceptional service. The staff are not only incredibly friendly and attentive but also genuinely passionate about ensuring you have the best possible stay! We haven’t experienced service like that during our 5 months of travel so it was truely appreciated. We were made to feel right at home.

My favourite part of our stay was the grounds! They do an incredible job at maintaining the gardens which make you feel like you’re in a true tropical oasis. And nestled amongst it all is a beautiful hot tub where you can relax and watch the hummingbirds and even Macaws fly by!

The food was absolutely flawless. We particularly loved the breakfast every morning and was excited to wake up and try something new every day! The coffee is also exceptional.

All in all, it was a truely magical stay and we left the resort feeling relaxed and refreshed. If you're looking for an exquisite tropical getaway with top-notch service and an ambiance that's both refined and laid-back, this is the...

Absolutely horrible front desk/maid service. When rooms were serviced, literally every day they failed to replace either towels/washcloths or soap products. Then when calling to request the missed items it took anywhere from 30 minutes to two hours to receive the items and the girl operating the front desk seemed put out everytime we needed something. Requested the managers contact but she didn't send it. Meant to ask the food service staff but forgot before leaving and cant find contact info for them. One evening after getting back we planned on showering and going to dinner but didnt have towels or soap, when we requested them we waited over 90 minutes and ended up having to have the Head Chef at the restaurant arrange to have them brought. The room was 2 star quality, the pool at the actual rooms was out of service and appeared to have been for a while. You have to hike quite a hill up and down to get to the beach bar/pool and beach acces. Otherwise they have a tuk tuk that will take you up and down but then it's customary to tip each trip. The only good things that gets it a 2 star stay rather than a 1 is the food at the restaurant and beach bar was amazing quality the Chefs and wait staff were exceptional upbeat, friendly and professional. And the lower pool and deck was nice. I wish I remembered all the staff names. Darlin and Jack are two that I rember. I realize standards are different in Central America but in all our travels I've never seen a place with high ratings like this does that performed so poorly.

While the idyllic forest location of Blue Roatán held promise, our week-long stay was unfortunately marred by a series of service lapses and disappointing amenities. **Front Desk Mishaps:** Our initial excitement was dampened by the unresponsiveness of the reception desk. Inquiries about water taxis went unanswered, leaving us to seek information elsewhere. This theme repeated throughout our stay. Promises of housekeeping, forgotten requests for toiletries, and a complete lack of apologies became frustratingly commonplace. **Inconsistent Housekeeping:** Housekeeping was sporadic and unreliable. Missed cleanings, vanishing bath mats, and stained towels (including beach towels with bleach spots) were the norm. Shampoo and conditioner supplies were not replenised, requiring repeated requests to be fulfilled. **Beyond the Room:** Other annoyances chipped away at the idyllic setting. Loud leaf blowers disrupted afternoons, a bathroom window stubbornly refused to close (in a resort only two years old!), and the under-construction beach area lacked staff and proper hygiene facilities. **Unfulfilled Potential:** Overall, Blue Roatán's shortcomings overshadowed its natural beauty. The consistent inconvenience and lack of responsiveness from staff left us feeling uncared for and disappointed.
