The hotel rooms are mediocre. The beds are comfortable and in a room overlooking the courtyard there wasn't too much noise from the street. So much for the advantages. The walls are paper-thin, so we could hear every word of conversations in the next room. There is some black mold in the shower. The paint is chiping off here and there. In general, the facilities could use some renovation. The towels provided aren't too fresh. Not that they are dirty, but they might be stored for a long time or washed with too little detergent.
The building has only two lifts - one limited to 2 persons and the other to 5 - which is not enough for a hotel of this size, especially during morning rush hour.
The food is awful. For breakfast we had a choice of cereal, stale bread, cheap hot-dogs chopped into small pieces, overcooked scrambled eggs (probably because they have been left in the bain-marie for an hour or so) and some mush I wouldn't dare guessing the origin of. The juice tasted like that cheapest watered down formula from the supermarket. They even managed to screw up the tea by offerring lukewarm water instead of boiling-hot.
The worst aspect however is the most important part of any hospitality business - the service. They are brash and unhelpful. They wanted to keep our IDs overnight. When I protested mentioning that I don't feel secure leaving my documents with them and that it's a breach of EU's GDPR they returned it laughingly asking if I feel secure now. The comments between the staff in Hungarian were also an unpleasant touch. The staff don't wear any badges and don't always adhere to a unified dress code, so you can never be sure whether you are addressing somebody who works here or another guest. The room service was limited to a change of towels and taking away the trash. There was no sign of anybody even...
Read moreI found this hotel via booking com and paid for 28.11.22-11.12.22 as I have to see a dentist in Budapest. ||Shortly: ||1. They don't speak English! Just 1 person and you must be lucky to meet him||2. Their manager never comes to the hotel, so it's impossible to solve anything as they Don't Speak English.||3. Filthy, dirty carpets, toilet, shower. Everything is broken. Look at the photos. Just in my room: broken box for liquid soap in a shower, no lid in a sink, some strange thing wrapped in nasty blue packet on the ceiling, etc. ||4. Reception is rude just one man was nice. Lady argued with me using her language and I saw her eyes and the tone of her rude voice shocked me. It seems that she hates the hotel and the guests. No assistance in anything. I asked her to bring me a remote control for air conditioner - she said yes and nothing happened. So I slept in a cold room. Now I have a caught and temperature and stay in another hotel. That's my holiday here.||5. Breakfast: sorry that I can't add here any photos as I hadn't made any. But breakfast is awful: over fried eggs, one tipe of nasty sausage, cheese, cold coffee, flavoured tea bags, cornflakes and milk, tomatoes, cucumbers. Everything is cold. ||6. Elevator. Look at the photos. Just one works. More over their staff don't pay attention that guests are in elevator, so push their trolleys with dirty smell towels and can't even wait. ||7. Breakfast till 9:00!!! ||8. Room has specific bad smell that I had a headache. ||It must be not everything that I should mention. But I hope it's enough to understand that this hotel is 1 star, not 4. ||||Still waiting that booking com will give me money back for the hotel as I stayed there just till 1 of December, because I moved when I found for myself a new normal hotel....
Read moreIf you need a place to lay your head for the night, this place is good. If you’re looking for a spotless modern hotel, this is not the place for you. Out of all the hotels (and the one motel) I’ve stayed at, this was the worst. I won’t say this place is terrible. Like I said, unless you’re used to Radisson blu or clarion hotel type standards, this place isn’t so bad. The receptionist was friendly, the breakfast area was impressive compared to how the room looked, despite the small size, the lobby has a nice sitting area, the bed was comfortable (the pillows were very flat though)... and those are all the positives. The AC was not working properly; rather than cooling the room down, it made the air feel musky. The room also had a musty smell to it, even when the window was open. There’s no coffee or tea for you there, but there are teacups and a water cooker available. There was a ceiling fan on which the light was connected. Both the AC and the ventilation in the bathroom were full of dust bunnies. The remote control was dusty and the walls were dirty. To be fair, the reviews do say they scored low when it comes to cleanliness, so the fact that it wasn’t “spotless” shouldn’t have surprised me. I’d probably never stay here again, but I will say that if all you need is a comfortable bed, privacy and complementary breakfast then this place is a good option. It’s also near the sports arena if you have anything...
