We spent 4 days in Iceland for a wedding and ended up at three separate hotels during this time due to the weekend activities. Hotel Lotus was easily our absolute favorite. From the welcome and accommodating greeting, to the beautiful room and delicious complimentary breakfast, this location will be the first we recommend to anyone wondering where to stay in Reykjavik. It is very close to a bus station, or if you're up for a walk instead, it is an easy stroll to downtown Reykjavik. I did notice that all three hotels we stayed at had fairly thin walls, but Lotus was the quietest of the three. The blackout curtains were also the best compared to all locations (we were there just days before summer solstice, so this was a huge help!). I looked at several reviews of other locations prior to booking this one, and noticed that most Iceland hotels' reviews include some version of a complaint about "tiny bathrooms," so I made sure to take photos of this beautiful bathroom. If you're a large person I could see it being an issue. We found it easily functional and aesthetic. Oh, and the overhead rain showers are THE BEST. I want one just like it at home now. 10/10 recommend. Book it and enjoy your trip as much as we did!

This is a very intimate 22-room small business owned hotel. The owner is absolutely delightful who will go out of her way to make sure our needs were attended to. She provided plenty of information for us to enjoy our stay in Iceland and provided travel advice since we were stuck in turbulent stormy weather. The room was quite small and kept clean. Good water pressure in the bathrooms and quick to hot water. The floors in the bathroom were heated which was nice but my complaint would be a lack of a shower door. The shower curtain did not do anything and our floor was soaked. Due to the small turnout of guest, it seemed like the breakfast was not as fresh (fruit seemed old). There were deli meats, cheese, variety of breads, yogurt, cereal, hard boiled eggs, and fruit. If you are staying for room comfort, I’d stay at a bigger hotel for better amenities. If you want a personal intimate experience, then this is a great spot for a cozy feel.

A lovely centrally located and recently revamped boutique hotel with excellent personalized service. 👍😍👍 The newly renovated rooms have top notch beds to ensure a good night's sleep ... and the bathrooms have great showers and all the bathroom necessities you'll need to feel refreshed & ready to enjoy the many adventures awaiting you in Iceland. 👍😊👍 Personally I loved some of the unique art displayed around the hotel and I was truly impressed with the top notch service and friendly welcome by the owner of this hotel ... who went out of her way to make all your wishes come true! The breakfast is simple but the owner is always ready to accommodate any special needs you may have! 😋😊 The other thing I liked about the hotel is its location .... about 40 minute walk to Reykjavik's center and about a 20 minute walk to one Reykjavik's best public swimming pools ... with sauna and hot pots! Totally recommend this lovely hotel! 👍❤👍 😍

Lovely small hotel. Stayed for 4 nights with my adult son in February 2025. Reserved a two twin bed room with balcony. The beds were comfortable, the comforters keep me warm at night, and the pillows were firm but not hard. There was ample room for two people. The room had a desk for your laptop with a gooseneck lamp, chair for the desk, a Nespresso coffee pot with some capsules provided, a TV with English and US channels, a mini fridge, a rack to hang coats and a drawer for clothing. The bathroom looked small at first glance but was more than adequate. The shower had doors to keep water out of the rest of the bathroom and was big enough to move around in without banging the sides. A choice of shower heads - a rain shower and a hand held sprayer. Lots of hot water, great water pressure, body gel, shampoo, conditioner, and a towel heater! The sink has a shelf and area around the sink so you can keep your bathroom items out. Towels were enormous and soft. The balcony had 2 chairs and a small table. We saw the aurora directly in front of it one night, even with the city lights.|Breakfast was delicious with lots of choices: breads, cheeses, meats, hard boiled eggs, smoked salmon, pastries, cake, skyr, cereal, fresh fruit, pate, veggies, all kinds of condiments, juice, tea, and of course, coffee. The coffee machine is available 24 hours which is really nice when you get back to the hotel from the cold and want a hot drink. All the staff I met were friendly, helpful, and efficient. |The hotel is very near the highway, was easy to find, and provides quick access the the city center. There is free parking. It is in a quiet neighborhood so we had no concerns with the noise. |I would highly recommend this hotel. The price was right, the location was great, the room was comfortable, and the staff...

I had originally booked my stay for 2020, but due to COVID, I had to postpone my trip. During that time, the staff was extremely responsive with answering my questions. Once my friend and I arrives at the hotel, I realized it was a bit further from the city center than I originally thought but it wasn't a problem for us since we had a car (which is crucial to have if you want to really see Iceland, in my opinion). This location also made leaving the city center easier and seeing the more adventurous side of Iceland...not just what's in Reykjavik. Not to mention, parking in the city center was simple so it didn't make this factor much of a hassle. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the room because everything was renovated compared to the photos when I originally booked. My friend and I requested 2 single beds and our accommodation was made immediately, the bathroom is a bit on the smaller size, but that's something to expect in overseas travel anyway. The breakfast was delicious and although was the same everyday, there's a large selection and as long as you're not a picky eater...try some of the more unusual choices! One recommendation is to have breakfast until 10:30, as someone who enjoys really sleeping in, it'd be nice to wake up at 10 and still enjoy breakfast. Overall, we really...

It was an absolute pleasure to stay at this family run hotel. The booking process was easy and the price was very reasonable. The property boasts free parking and a keyless/contactless check in. They have a keypad system throughout the hotel and email the code at booking. All parts of the hotel were immaculately clean. The communal and room pictures posted online were accurate. The restaurant area downstairs was large and nicely decorated and laid out. Breakfast included a variety of meats, cheeses, breads, yogurts, cakes, cereals and milks. It also had a fancy "Jura" coffee machine, that was an absolute win for us. The owner/manager was very kind and nice to talk to. She baked a fresh cake for a guests birthday, while we were there. She also searched in the kitchen for gluten free options for my wife and advised us that if we had of let her know beforehand, she would have gone out to get gluten free bread just for us! The room was just as advertised and was very clean and finished to a high standard. It had a king bed, heated floor, multi-brightness light system, comfortable sitting area and large bathroom with wet-room style shower. The room also included a fridge and "Nespresso" machine. If we were to visit Reykjavik again, this would 100% be where we stay. Couldn't recommend this...
