Dersy Beach Resort — Hotel in Agonda

We booked Dersy Holiday Home(not cottage) for 2 Nights at the end of Sept 2019 and our experience was awesome. Please find a detailed review(although quite late):

Hotel Options: They offer two properties with the cottages right on the Agonda beach which are called the Dersy Cottages and the other property just on the other side of the road called Dersy Holiday home. The cottages hadn't opened in September end and hence we stayed at the Dersy Holiday home.

Location: The holiday home is located on the other side of the Agonda Beach Road and the beach is just a stone throw away. It takes max 2 mins by walk to get to the beach which is right opposite to the cottage. The Agonda Beach is one of the cleanest beaches of Goa.

Rooms and Amenities: We booked a Deluxe Family Suite which had Air-Conditioning and 24 hrs hot water. The interiors of the rooms were good if not great with two double beds. There was a mini fridge in the room.They also have an inverter which is very much required in Agonda as there are frequent power cuts. The free-WIFI is satisfactory. You can view the Agonda Beach right from your room

Food: They also have an attached restaurant which serves good food. The Breakfast was complimentary for our stay and we had two options: a. Bread Butter with Fruit Salad b. Aloo Paratha I was satisfied with the food at Dersy's Restaurant.

Service: The owner(Jess Fernandes) is quite helpful and tries his best to make your stay comfortable. He takes great efforts in keeping the place up to the mark and is constantly looking to improve. We faced some issues with the Air-conditioning and they got it repaired in no time. Bike/Car Rentals and Tourist Cabs are also available.

Cost: Coming to the main part, it is moderately priced and I would say it is full value for money. We paid 2700 INR per night for 3 people with a complimentary breakfast. Call them directly and mention the price you get on the online aggregators websites and they would offer you better rates. Although it was an off-season, it was worth the price.

Room for improvement: They can work a bit on the costing at the restaurant which I felt it was a little overpriced. Food is generally costly at Agonda and that is what I observed.

Overall: I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Dersy Holiday Homes and will surely visit again. Will try the Dersy Cottages next time. Keep up...

Dersy proved to be an ultimate savior of our almost spoilt trip by the "Baga palace" (hotel), we had such memorable and joyful time at dersy cottage, words fall short to describe the gentleness and humble gesture of the staff, The owner, Mr Jess Fernandez is himself a very cooperative, cool, down-to-earth, helpfull and greeting person. Initially our booking went kaput through anoda website and it was non refundable booking but when we contacted Mr. Jess, in little hope, he himself took over the matter and saved our money by making fresh booking on my name (first one was made on my husband's name), he corporated well, answered all my queries, very polite and gentle person. Though it was a nonrefundable booking and we were suppose to get nothing in return, he did not let the situation down and made it through, I appreciate and appreciate and appreciate this man's kindness. When wanted to have lobster for dinner but it was not a season to get lobster still Mr. Jess arranged lobster for our dinner, again appreciated..As the staff is lead by The manager cum friend of Mr. Fernandez, Mr. Arjun, a very helpful and attentive person, he will leave no stone unturned to help you through. N then there is this guy Dharma ,very humble and dedicated person. These guys serves you with love and warmth and gives you feeling of family .

About location- Dersy is the best, best hotel in South Goa or would say best one, neat and clean room, beatiful location, sea view, Garden view, proper care of hygiene, they serve almost everything they have on their menue, tasty freshly cooked food every time, availablity of drinking, variety of mocktails and salads, no issue of mosquito, acitve, caring and attentive staff. I was with my 1.5 yr old daughter n she was roaming freely nd these guys were very cautious and taking care . Also she became very friendly with them.

I would recommend, suggest every person reading this, nd planning Goa trip.. please choose this place , you and your family will love this family run place. I have had experience of two more hotels in Goa , n based on my experience I would say this place is heaven to spend vacations. Go blindly for this place , they will take care of everything,...

Excellent place to relax close to sea. Very nice stay in a homely environment. The owner Mr. Jess is very helpful and an excellent host. Rest staff Mr. Sameer, Mr. Arjun are great. They will tell you about the fish caught in the morning and offer you dishes of your choice. The shack is also very good.|We stayed in a sea-view cottage. It's just on the beach. So the sea is like your own swimming pool and beach is the courtyard! The sound of waves crashing at night makes the stay even more unique and special. Stay in this sea view cottage for an incredible experience. These cottages have ac, private bathroom. The cottages behind possibly have a shared bathroom. Check before booking.|I also rented an automatic hatchback for self drive, and Mr. Jess helped me with it. It was a new car in great condition.|The beach itself is amazing,clean, relaxed and best thing no hawkers or shops (plenty shacks are available though). Each resort has a shack. Some shops are on the beach road also.|Overall, this is one of the places where you would love coming back to. Great host, hospitality and food make it a memorable stay.|We were so charmed that we didn't feel the need to visit the North Goa beaches. Make sure to visit the Cola beach and Gaglibaba beaches, they will blow your mind away. For shopping next door Palolem...
