LA DOLCE VITA PIZZERIA — Restaurant in Goa

The place is nice and well decorated with soothing music.

When it comes to food one will expect amazing taste and authenticity, but we were disappointed twice (once in 2021 and just a week ago). The pizzas were to us below average, and tiramisu was not even authentic. Just to clarify I even checked with them what ingredients they used and they didn't use the authentic ingredients as well as the taste was bad. Authentic tiramisu should have lady fingers which was not the case here, they used something else (didn't tell me what just avoided) that tasted more like some sort of cakey thing. The pizza had taste of raw Tomato and the pepperoni tasted like fried Brinjal. I cannot reply back to the owner to her amazing (defending attitude) reply so I am editing here. Just FYI that I do bake and have a good skill at telling the difference between the good and the bad baked items. Anyways, I just shared my honest reviews that's all, as you said it varies from person to person. However I was not wrong about the authentic part though. And the tiramisu wes not authentic.

The food is pretty mediocre and service is rather cold. The staff is not rude but definitely lacking hospitability. We ordered a platter for cold cuts, a pizza with prosciutt and rocket leafs, and chicken valdostana. The cold cuts were ok, but the cheese served along with it was not kept cleanly, we didnt eat it.

Pizza was thin crust but all right. Not bad. Chicken Valdostana was terrible, it was drier than a schnitzel. No sauce or cheese on top and no tossing in white wine and the salad was rather sad.

My girlfriend ordered a ginger honey tea, but her cup was not clean. We asked to replace the cup, and they oblliged.

Now the worst bit - we saw a HUGE rat, the biggest I have ever seen in my life crawl right by us. That rat was so big it reminded me of Peter Pettigrew. This killed our appetite and we left without finishing.

Not gonna repeat or recommend. It might have been opened by an italian family, but this place lacks effort in its food and...

This place would be so much better if the staff woke up and started by waiting tables.

Food is great, but waiting, waiting, waiting for. Service at the table. They are not busy, just a little bit arrogant.

Have eaten here twice, one time in Jan 2023, gave this place a shot this time too, but same thing again.

Update, since owner answer:

We ate a few days ago, not busy. Ate here today as well, again, good food, but your waiters have absolutely no idea. I was going to have a whiskey, and dessert as well, but everybody is walking past, impossible to make eye contact. You could upsell at least +25% by asking simple questions.

Glass is empty: would you like more? Would you like coffee or dessert? Did the food taste good?

And no, waiters are not busy, they stand looking out in thin air, not engaging with customers.

I just gave up, paid, and went and had a drink and dessert down the road instead. It's not fun...
