I visited this place for lunch with my husband on 9th April. We were pretty excited to have Indian food after a while of our stay in Goa & coming across a label like this had us all excited.
However when we reached the place was empty but we were excited for food so wanted to continue.
But it felt like a wrong decision the moment food came. Everything was below average. I ordered basic palak paneer & dal tadka with 1 tandoori roti & 1 butter garlic naan. All of the same was also recommended by the waiter.
But the food & service was a disappointment.
The naan & roti were so thick & under cooked. We were not served with dal till 1/2 the meal was done whereas we asked to bring it all together.
The papad took 1 hour to reach the table.
On asking for lemon & onions, it took another 25 mins.
Lastly we called for rice as roti were inedible but that too was a disaster.
I have visited the Mumbai restaurant by Hemant Oberoi but the excitement fell off the wagon in GOA.
It was the last meal of us in GOA & we had more hopes with the food especially when the name is banking on the shoulders of...
Read moreWe stayed at The Ivy hotel and had to use this restaurant. The breakfast was below any average and the service was bad. We had ask for basics like napkins, salt and water every single morning as nothing was prepared. The buffet for this kind of restaurant was very limited and the choice from the kitchen nowhere mentioned. The staff is badly trained and if there are three tables occupied, it was too much to handle. Furthermore neither the coffee machine nor the beer tap are operating and that during peak season. We also went for dinner and ordered room service, which was even worse. At dinner the chicken went bad and obviously the kitchen does not recognizied or does any quality check. It was just taken back without any excuse or explanation. Anything we ordered for room service was full of garlic (soup and pasta). Mr. Oberoi should be ashamed to provide his name for such kind of restaurant. Very disappointing experience for far...

Now I don't know why would they not get a 5 star rating, that's something surprising, actually the food was good, ambience / atmosphere was also decent but the staff was so courteous so courteous that it makes you give them a 5 star rating, other things are automatically over looked.
See the point is you can't rate them on the basis of IVY Hotel, hotel staff was a little rude & Amuz is an outsourced restaurant, they are totally different entity, the first day the head person at the restaurant, We found him to be real polite, decent & courteous, which he was. Later in the day we found, every staff member was a perfect fit.
A services industry needs people like them, and this choice of all the staff being so good is a difficult one. Hats...
