BOUGAINVILLEA — Hotel in Assam

⭐☆☆☆☆||Extremely Disappointing & Unsafe Experience – Avoid at All Costs||||We stayed at Bougainvillea on 25th July with my fiancée, my sister, and her fiancé (visiting from Dubai). What began as a short family stay turned into a traumatic experience due to the aggressive, unprofessional, and unsafe behavior of the staff.||||Despite initially agreeing to the homestay’s policy of not allowing locals to stay overnight (a rule we found arbitrary but accepted), my fiancée only came for a brief visit before my sister’s departure. While I was downstairs explaining this to the staff, one of them barged into my room without any consent, verbally abused my fiancée in Assamese, and even threatened physical violence. She came downstairs visibly shaken.||||When I confronted the man, he was clearly intoxicated, abusive, and aggressively got physical with me. Shockingly, the situation escalated further in front of the owner, who instead of taking action against his drunken and abusive staff, asked us to leave. Even worse, his staff openly threatened me, saying I wouldn’t be allowed to leave Guwahati safely.||||We left the property feeling unsafe, harassed, and completely appalled.||This place may look calm from the outside, but the environment is anything but welcoming or secure—especially for couples or families with women.||||I strongly advise against staying here. There are far better and safer options...

We had booked 2 rooms,for 24th March 23 at Bougainvilla home stay. On 24th morning,I called from Shillong and the lady who answered,was very rude and said our booking was cancelled by us,WHICH WAS NOT THE CASE. She refused to listen and banged the phone down. After an hour,the owner Mr Nath called us and said there was some confusion and he could accommodate us at a resort,owned by him,about 20km away from the city and offered us free dinner. Told him,i would call back. When i called back,he was good on his offer,but,no dinner. On arrival at the property,around 7.30 pm,the incharge,Mr.Rahul was quite nice,but we had to wait,for about 30 mins,as one of the rooms was not ready. The ac in our room 10,could not be controlled, so had to be kept,switched off. There was no hot water too,both the times I had a shower. Barring the above,the food was good(free soup for dinner,was suddenly offered to us),the service too was good. We had Dinner Breakfast and Lunch,at the property. Bougainvillea itself is a quite homestay with spacious room but what complimentary breakfast isn't upto the mark as what they portrait in all booking sites.

Especially Property Owner isn't friendly nor over the phone or in person.

Care Taker present there at the property trying their best to keep up the Hospitality and welcoming the guest but they have strict biased instructions from the Mrs Nath .

Else you could enjoy a quite and peace stay away from busy life with floral decor interior and aesthetics.
