Hotel Hoysala — Hotel in Bengaluru

It must have been there for years as a good option to stay in Bangalore. The rooms are very spacious and have nice beds and furniture to meet the basic needs. They have fixed plug points at most improbable but still accessible places for no apparent reason. The hotel does not have an electrical kettle to spare or supply anything warm or cold after 2200 hrs. My rare medical condition needing warm drinking water makes me carry an electric kettle and a flask all the time but had to give the former a miss since the Bangalore trip was an unexpected and sudden one. The staff except one has little knowledge of English though almost everyone understand Hindi in this hotel located in a city considered the city of the future/electronic capital of India etc etc. The front office staff was surprised when I inquired about the wi fi facility. The location and infrastructure are actually good but the whole set up needs a serious make over. The parking space in the front is very limited. There is a restaurant which can be accessed from the road and not from within the compound although there is a regular room...

I've been a regular at this place for quite a while now and this is a summary of my experiences. ||||I travel to Bangalore often and I stay at this place because of the location (close to the railway station and walkable from the Sampige Road Metro & Mantri Square. Their restaurant is great. ||||Reception: Professional-ish staff, will handle your check-in without any problems. ||||Rooms: Pretty old fashioned stuff without but well maintained. But sometimes, you'll have the privilege of staying at a not-so-nice room that's when the reception will be apathetic. You don't have basic facilities and they won't care either. If they give you a nice room, they're usually nice to you as well. It's just weird and I stopped trying to figure it out. ||||Room Service: I wouldn't trust the room service delivering my food. I've seen the hotel staff nibbling food that they then deliver to the rooms. Surprisingly though, the restaurant is so much nicer...
