Taste of Kashmir in Banglore @Lush Renaissance Bengaluru Race Course .
Yes you heard me absolutely right.
Suresh Hinduja sir has put-forth lot of efforts to bring the legacy of "Wazwan" to Bangalore.
Thank you sir – would say that from bottom of my heart. Been craving to relish a perfect Wazwan since my last trip to Kashmir. And this one cleared the dearth of that.
Chef "BashirAhmad" has done a fantastic job in curating a perfect Wazwan for us last night.
A Bit of History Wazwan – A multi course meal which stands as pride of Kashmiri cuisine Kashmiris proclaim that Wazwan is the star attraction in Kashmiri Cuisine. Traditional local chefs who are called as Wazas, specialize in cooking this elaborate meal that is mutton-based feast along with some vegetarian fare. Right selection of meat, spices and undivided attention and care make this a Grand Affair!
About last night:
Started off with Khawa Cooler
Then headed for Appetizers like Mutton Sheekh Kebab and Nadru Mushroom Tikka
For main course few note worthy ones are – Gosthaba, Roghan Josh, Tabakmass, Riste along with some vegetarian delicacies like Choke Wangun, Nadru Palak and Gucchi Pulao
Gosthaba - A popular mutton based delicacy prepared with mutton minced with spices shaped into balls and cooked in flavorful and delicious yoghurt gravy, Loved the creamy texture and succulent flavours
Rogan Josh – (Name is derived from Persian words in which Rogan meals oil and Josh mean Intense heat) This is a perfect one to add charm to dinner table with this hearty, meaty curry. Straight from Bashir Ahmads kitchen Made with spices like fennel seeds and dry ginger. Other grounded spices this one is a true fiery flavorsome dish
Tabakmass – Yet another classic lip smacking recipe thats made using lamb ribs, milk, ghee and a mélange of spices like cloves, cinnamon, turmeric, aniseeds. Crispy golden fried lamb ribs were cooked to perfection and meat just falls off the bone.
Choke Wangun - Kashmiri Khatte Baingan as we all know them, are a perfect dish full of zingy flavors Deep fried aubergines cooked in tangy gravy add charm to this delicacy. Loved it as part of vegetarian fare.
We ended our meal on a sinful note With some humble Apple Phirni and Moonlight walnut Fudge which was a show stopper
Details of Food festival: Bringing Kashmiri to The Garden City Its on till 25th February Served only for dinner post 18:30 hours Priced at 2200 ++Taxes for food only 3500 ++Taxes for Food and drinks
Wazwan once again a pride of Kashmiri cuisine never fails in winning the heart of a non-vegetarian lover like me.
Why wait do head to Renaissance Hotel Racecourse road and breathe in a bit of Kashmir and relish Wazwan.

We booked a table via Zomato. It was confirmed on the app. The restaurant manager claimed this isn't valid and we needed to call the restaurant directly. We pointed out that we did call the restaurant on their number 6 different times. The number wasn't working. I called again in front of her to confirm. The restaurant manager had no explanation for why the number wasn't working.
She told us Lush was reserved for a private dining experience. We understand. Accidents happen. She offered us a table at the R Bar instead. Given we'd spent a good 30 minutes solving this mess, we figured we might as well eat. Then, we waited 10 minutes for the waiter to take our order. He informed us that everything on the menu will take 60 minutes to prepare and he can try to get us one or two dishes in under 45 minutes.
Then, we had to call the waiter three times and then escalate to the restaurant manager to get served water. Interestingly, we got tiny water bottles (the ones you get in hotel rooms).
I understand that serving 200 people in a private dining experience is a priority. But, did you really have to screw us over so much? :)
I'd like to believe that Lush offers a better experience to other patrons. Adding a blank photo of my table because it best represents the cold, emptiness of the Renaissance...
