We were invited yesterday for lunch by @fortuneparkbhubaneswar yesterday as winners of their South Asian culinary launch event.
Service: Manager in a condescending way asked us- What do we want, as we entered. They had no clue about the invite, made us wait. People who served us were polite but we were not given a proper table to sit and given a corner in front of kitchen. They didn't serve prawn rolls after making us wait. Chef stopped me to click pictures of Nasi Goreng in a rude way as poach didn't look good, rebuked me why didn't I give orders altogether.
Taste:
Soups: Lemon wonton soup tasted like lemon water, was below average. Pho tasted of fried onions and star anise, I personally loved it a lot.
Starters: Golden fried asparagus was crispy with burnt garlic flavor. Portions were less I loved it. Golden chicken had frozen chicken filling
Dumplings: Chicken Sui Mai was frozen with dry fillings, coating wasn't cooked well, too thick. Mushroom corn dumplings coating was uncooked but fillings tasted good.
Main course: Nasi Goreng was so disappointing, poach was not warm, chicken was too rubbery, stiff. Prawn chips provided were excellent.
Mongolian lamb was so salty that I got shock of my life.Texture was fantastic, but overloaded with cumin, salt.Chef didn't accept my feedback, said it was soaked overnight, & this is how it tastes.
Chilly garlic Noodles tasted only of red chilli powder and loads of oil without seasoning.
Dessert: Darsan looked aesthetically pleasing but had 2 half melting scoops of vanilla on a bed of soggy honey noodles which were not fresh or crispy.
Portions: Decent Portions were served for soups, main course.Starters, dumplings were extremely less in quantity.
Rating: 2 out of 5
Overall Thoughts: Gave us cookies as gift, rest management needs serious training regarding their behavior and serving time. The guys who served us were polite, rest I didn't like the behavior of manager or chef. Food was below average, upset my stomach really bad, am taking rest since yesterday due to diarrhea after returning. Everything had lots of oil which didn't suit me. Needs lots of improvement ,their attitude to take feedback...

Read moreAbsolute embarrassment to the brand ITC. Have been using The Orchid restaurant quite frequently. Every time I visit, there is either a time delay or some mess up with the order. Haven’t complained till now because I found the staff quite friendly. However on 24th April morning when I visited them for breakfast, I ordered a club sandwich to be quickly done since I was getting late for office. It took them 25 min to serve me the order, but what was more bizarre that I was served a veg sandwich & told it was a chicken sandwich. When I questioned them, & asked for the manager to be met, the chef was sent out to meet me who just kept on saying sorry all the time & wanting to replace the food served. Since I was getting late, I decided to have what was served. My agony did not end here. I was presented with a bill for club sandwich which I never had. On questioning, they again apologised & corrected the bill. Once I paid in cash, I was given back short cash under the garb of having no change. At this point I decided to make a complaint, went to the Front Office asking for the GM of the hotel. Out came the Front Office Manager again profusely apologising but not giving me the GM’s number. Only assuring me that the GM will call back the same day. Two days after I still await the call… This is not the ITC I know of & have patronised all these years at different locations. Good luck to you ITC for having people who pull down your standards every passing day. I could have chosen the social media to share my experience, but my love for the brand refrains me from doing so. Bye Bye & Good Luck. I have decided not to patronise this brand again or even recommend to anyone. Do not stay here but use the Restaurant...
