Extremely sorry to write this review on one of the oldest & fevorite south indian restaurant chain of Bhubaneswar. In 90's after wards this is one of the best competing with others like Veeneeth's, Priya, Hare Krishna, bit later... Shri Kunj... Etc. There are myths that, "Experience made you polished and capable to proof yourself the best in the mass" but here I felt .... "The best become worst ". What I felt, those concerns are running behind money not behind value for money. Even today the customers took steps to dine on the second floor for what???? I couldn't even understand. Atleast the concern should respect the effort of those customers, if I am not mistaken, the number of steps Reflecting the market existence of the concern in numbers, more or less. Quality gone into hell, Ambience was over crowding, Price gone upto sky high supported By GST, Table decorame is mind blowing with our tissue paper even, The body language of bearers, are not matched with their personality nor their uniforms, the facial expressions counts on the size of the tip, no matter what the bill was..... What I felt paying Rs.320/- against Rs.311.85, for three rawa dosa's and three Vada's along with taste less, once made cold Samber and chutney yet expired. All over India and in countries abroad The South Indian Food is known for its Blends, Smells of Spices and quality of Plattering Ambiences with magics of different different tastes Of Each bites with same dish. But it's very painful to say that, as a customer having hunger in the stomach and wish to have a taste of South Indian Food in the mind, also prepared for price with GST in pocket, should not enter into those places, with or without family members and friends, got to be missguided and tourchured themselves, mantally, physically, financially by these ruthless butchers sitting in food business . There is only one way to teach those a lesson is to demand or to boycott chose one. I am working on it ... let's wait and watch.. sorry for wasting of your valuable time with a Long...
Read moreI stayed there for two days and my stay was not less than homely. It was always a night mare for me to stay in a new place , between new people and alone. I'm a dancer from chennai and i had a performance at bhanja kala mandap. it was near by the hotel as well as the airport so it was very convenient for me to travel. Room was very much neat and clean , staff was very much friendly and helpful. They were ready to help at every time i needed them even to change a fused bulb also :-) The highlight was the food. when i saw the menu i was overwhelmed with happiness as i felt i'm at home only, in my place :-) and i was in confusion what to order :-) i would like to thank Mr. Radeesh for helping me before and after booking my room. I will choose to stay there only if i get a chance to go to bhubaneswar. A small suggestion i would like to give is pls try to keep a card or paper in room which has the number of reception , to order food etc. second thing if psble ("if psble") pls keep a small table or teapoy outside the rooms so that we can keep the plates or cups after consuming so that the staff can take it away easily without disturbing the customers. This is the one thing i felt uncomfortable. or...
Read moreUnfortunately, I must express my disappointment with the dining experience at Venus Inn, despite its longstanding reputation as one of Bhubaneswar's oldest eateries. The charm that once drew me in seems to have faded into oblivion.
The sambhar, once a highlight of their menu, now tastes nothing short of pathetic. Its flavor lacks the depth and richness that it once boasted. Additionally, the chutney, a supposed accompaniment to elevate the meal, consistently arrives stale, leaving much to be desired.
To compound matters, the overall taste of the dishes has taken a nosedive, falling far short of the expectations set by this venerable establishment. As if that weren't enough, the service has also plummeted to new lows, with wait times stretching longer than ever before.
While Venus Inn Restaurant may hold a special place in the hearts of many, my recent experiences have left much to be desired. It pains me to say that I will not be returning...
