Typical Paharganj hotel: no matter how you dress it up, it's still "lipstick on a pig."

We requested a "quiet" room because we knew the traffic noise would be awful, and even though the room turned out to be farthest away from the busy main street, it was anything but quiet. The hallway outside our door echoed with noises from everybody coming and going at all hours of the night. We could hear loud plumbing noises from upstairs and adjacent rooms. Our room had no windows so it was very claustrophobic. The bathroom was one open room with no dividers for the shower, so everything got soaking wet when the shower was used. One night there was no hot water. The most egregious was that our room reeked of powerful disinfectant+perfume, very nauseating. I'm sure the room would have stunk like mold and mildew if it hadn't been for the perfume spray.

Lastly - we paid for a room that supposedly included free breakfast (booking.com). Turned out there was no such thing as free breakfast. They had a menu that you could order ala carte and the food could've been delivered to your room (their version of room service). I've contacted booking.com about this false advertising but so far...

I did a late check-in (around 1:30 am) and owner was there to greet and welcome me. He was very polite and helpful. He even upgraded my room to a suite as I was there only for a few hrs. and was leaving by the morning train. The support staff named Kamal took very good care during my stay and was always available whether it was operating the geyser, delivering soap and shampoo, delivering food or helping with moving the luggage up and down. They also have a 24/7 made to order food service and they made my order 5 am in the morning. I had veg sandwich and Indian coffee and both the items were fresh and flavorful. I had an absolutely wonderful experience at this hotel. The room was spotless and very comfortable . The bed was soft and cozy. Every small detail, from the fresh linens to the complimentary toiletries, showed great attention to guest comfort.

The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always ready with a smile and quick to assist with anything I needed. Room service was prompt, and the food was delicious. The hotel’s location was perfect — close to everything, yet peaceful and quiet at night.
