Visited in last week of december, sorry Dreamcatcher team, missed to say thank you here. At first when entered got a little skeptical moving from parking to reception (hahaha was not able to find way to my room even after staying 4 days but that was the fun part every day finding way from parking to restaurant to room, forgot to use compass but can use and its more fun then) and then a little confusion at reception of not having booking when paid all in advance :p created a sudden panic but sorted well. Goa feel
Then a little wait but that’s considerable people moving out coming in that time in december, waited at restaurant the best place to sit, view at another level, dreamcatchers hanging with those reflective glasses entangled in b/w and just relax.
All the staff, yes everyone is very humble and have this smile makes you happy and relaxed (sorry guys its been time so don’t remember all your names but even the owner guess sits there and being helpful and enjoy with guests himself wow that brings this overall charm to this place). There is one uncle (victor?) in restaurant who guess was bengali I guess as we heard him talking again sorry for not remembering your names but guess one of them in another review i read below, your smile is infectious.
The view from lagoon back waters facing rooms are super, calm, silent, water going away at night, coming high at daytime. Superrb.
Not to forget, Ahinas. Man you are so cooperative, helpful, considerate. Big thumbs up to each and every staff. Our chetta at billing counter :) Muffasa👌🏼
The only thing we felt a lil compromised but had to was the inside of the rooms as they are by default has to be built thru ply. But varandah/pattio are good. More lighting inside the room and washroom would do.
But only one average with all the other many max’s, staff behavior, ambience, location (back short walkable way to direct palolem beach)...
Read moreThanks Dream Catcher resort for the unforgettable experience which we had during our Goa trip. This stay had taught a few new things, primarily the importance of planning while choosing your stay.
The resort is well equipped with mosquito nets on top of your bed, which helps us to sleep peacefully. The resort is full of mosquitoes and you cannot sit outside of your room even during morning hours. So installing a mosquito net was a thoughtful help.
You should not expect any electric kettle, even though you are paying around 5K per day. If you need a morning tea you can contact the resort kitchen and they will provide you the tea with a minimal charge of Rs 50 per cup. The resort taught me how to stay in a very basic hotel and live with limited resources.
The resort is designed in such a way that you will not find any TV in your rooms, so that your mind will not divert from enjoying your vacation in Goa.
With my stay, I have learned that don’t assume anything while booking your rooms, based on the rates per night. You should inquire whether you are receiving basic amenities like complimentary breakfast , daily room cleaning, daily water bottle etc…
The dogs braking during nights were very musical, which will help you to sleep during nights.
The resort is not offering adequate parking for their guests, so you will get a nice morning and evening walk as you need to walk till the pay & park. I believe it was planned by the resort management with the health of their clients taken under consideration.
The resort is not offering any power backup solutions, so you can enjoy the beautiful darkness during power failures .
Once again I am thanking Dream catcher resort and their staff members for this wonderful learning experience. I can assure you that I will never...
Read moreI have stayed here 3 times but sadly on the last occasion management and staff really let things down for me.
Firstly (minor point): the manager misunderstood my booking so assumed I was checking out a day before I was scheduled to even though I had paid upfront.
Further, they double charged for our restaurant tab at the end - via card payment and also cash payment, which they have not returned to me since arriving back in the UK (4 months ago).
Context: I was trying to be nice and asked the restaurant staff if it was better to pay and leave a tip via cash or card. They said cash and thus "cancelled" my card transaction - which then went through when I checked a few days later. I had of course also paid them the cash, including a generous tip.
It's unfortunate they decided to keep the money as I will not be returning here again and would advise guests to double check their payments before using the card as there are some dishonest staff members.
Further, when paying for our accommodation by card upon arrival (they insist you pay the full balance which is a bit unusual and not how things were done previously), they charged me a fee on top of this which was higher than anything else I had paid in India. I have a Monzo card that gives perfect rates if you pay in the local currency but Dreamcatcher either added on a card fee or opted for us to pay in our home currency which made it more expensive. Again, not perhaps a huge deal but definitely unethical. Again, we didn't have this problem in any of the other places in Palolem that took card payments (Cafe Inn; Zest Cafe) as our card does not incur additional fees unless the merchange specifically...
