Renest Calangute Goa — Hotel in Goa

We stayed here for 3 nights and overall it was not that good experience .

Staff -

3. Manager was rude and argumentative.

Services -

1. One major issue was that they don’t have extra first aid kit, we requested for first aid kit, first time we got the kit almost immediately, however post that we had to request multiple times and we were told that there is only one kit in the hotel and some other guest has it. Since the guest was not available and they will not go out and get medicine for you, they can’t provide it. Having just one first aid kit in the hotel is not good. What if there is an emergency? We got it the next morning. And at the time of checkout when we gave them a feedback for this thing they charged us ₹500/- telling us that we have left a dot size spot on the bed sheet from the medicine (which was around 2-3 cm) and on asking if this is mentioned somewhere, the manager started arguing that if this was our home will be apply medicine while sitting on the bed. Tone was aggressive and it’s not how to talk to a guest.
2. Cab - they don’t provide the cab, however they have tie ups and will give you the phone numbers of the drivers who can provide cabs.

Room -

1. No balcony
2. No engaging view from windows
3. Hair dryer in our room was not working since day one and was reported immediately, maintenance staff told it needs to be changed and was it was replaced on our last day when it was of no use anymore. We were in fact told that you’ll be charged for this (for a dryer which was already faulty they tried to put it on us).
4. At the time of our check out post our room cleaning the manager was shouting at the guard that why do he allow people to enter the hotel with sand. Are you serious? A hotel near beach, not letting people in because of sand on them?

Restaurant

1. Breakfast was good. It was a full fledge buffet for the first two days and on the third day , since the number of Pax in the hotel were less , it was a cold menu, however hot cooked was cooked on demand.

3. We requested them to serve the food at the pool and although it was not allowed, they did make an exception and served us

The staff at Renest needs to be more flexible. We made a group booking for five couples with our kids and requested early check-in. However, they did not allocate all the rooms, even though they had availability. Eventually, they made us wait in the lobby until 2:00 pm before handing over the keys. Alternatively, I lost my room keys, and they charged me 500 Rs without providing a receipt. Additionally, we were charged for a Holi party that was canceled, and they did not refund the amount. On the bright side, the room quality was good, and a few restaurant staff members like Nirmal were very helpful. Also, the reception staff were polite. However, they were not accommodating and should have been more flexible, which would have given us a pleasant experience, especially when traveling with kids. They should have more options for kids play area or garden which...

We stayed at this property for 3 nights. While we were hotel hunting on MMT., we came across this property. We were unsure about the choice we were making but now after we stayed there, i am happy to say it has been one of the best stays. All browny points goes to their service and hospitality. Staff is super courteous and professional. I was travelling along with my 4 year super naughty kid, even he felt homely here. Rooms are super fresh and instagramable. It’s a new property. For food I would give 4 star as options were limited to Indian but whatever was severed to us was super delicious and hygienic. Big shout to staff who helped us with booking at the desk.
