Goa has by some distance been the most popular tourist destination in India. With an upgraded airport, improved connectivity and surfeit of 5 star hotels, the coastal state has enhanced its reputation as the tourist capital of the country.

Luxury travel for me, like most, included checking in high end branded hotels. This was until our previous trip to Goa. The joy of staying in a newly opened chic private villa – ‘Villa in Palms’ surpassed all earlier experiences.

What could a 5 bedroom, 8000 square feet, private infinity pool villa built on 1500 square meters of land overlooking the greens offer that would be different or may I say better than those sprawling properties?

My one word response would be - bespoke. I first heard the term ‘Su Misura’ in the context of customized Italian tailoring where the Zegna’s and Brioni’s of the world offer made to order stitching at a premium over their extant exorbitant retail pricing. It is for me an apt analogy of living in this private villa for it conforms to individual specifics.

I was always a trifle harrowed by the transportation in Goa. Starting from the airport pickups/drops to getting around town seemed a tad inconvenient in those taxis or rented cars. Here we had 3 brand new chauffeur driven Mercedes SUV’s at our disposal for the duration of our stay.

The villa interiors are as luxurious as you would expect in any top end hotel. The design is contemporary, the amenities state of art. There is extensive use of laterite, a local stone to give that Goan flavor. Every television, and there were plenty, had the option to watch Netflix or amazon prime and every nook and cranny of the property had hidden speakers playing dulcet music.

The service was impeccable - pampering yet not obtrusive, a rare blend that so often is a holy grail for even the seasoned resorts, commendable indeed for a neophyte to strike this balance so seamlessly.

The food was scrumptious, fresh ingredients and delectable taste. The eat out recommendations and reservations were comparable with any 5 star concierge service. The staff could even source an emergency medicine way past midnight.

Coming back to the interiors, the attention to detail endeared the place to me. Two things I always missed in hotels across the world – liquid soap in a soap dispenser next to the sink and hygiene faucet for you know what. Trivial perhaps, nevertheless so comforting, for someone with such foibles.

WHEN I THINK OF LUXURY HOTELS AND RESORTS, I GENERALLY THINK OF THE TAJ , W , ITC IN GOA. But as I found out in GOA, there’s a whole different side of luxury that I had no idea even existed until our SEVEN night stay at VILLA IN PALMS BY VESCAPES. Unlike resorts, whose pools, hallways and common areas are bursting with other hotel guests, VESCAPE Villa offers a private sanctuary perfect for couples and families OR A GROUP OF FRIENDS.

Upon arrival at GOA airport – a fleet ( 3 ) Mercedes GLC were parked for us right at the Exit and we were away in 5 minutes – drinking cold beer and Sodas in the car – approx. 45 min to the villa and an average of 20 minutes to all the hotspots in Goa . On arrival we were greeted with 14 or was it 15 attentive Staff who would take care of us for the next 7 days. A great welcome and then – the tour of the super 7 star luxury Villa .There was a ton to love about the rooms , including an amazing bathrooms, walk-in closet, flat screen TV, plush king bed, and my favorite, electronic blinds, the huge windows. All the Bedrooms / open air baths were unique and of the highest standard one can get anywhere. The villa itself was outfitted like a sophisticated high end home featuring a gourmet kitchen and Pool Decks, stylish living room, flat screen TV, out door speakers easy to connect with your Iphones. , Hot Tub ,Open bar , Sunbeds Private Patio ,Sky Deck etc. The property was equally luxurious with an pool and Hot tub surrounded by comfy loungers hearing to your favorite playlists, that makes the experience uniquely your own. ( Do not Forget your drinks ) - Did I mention on arrival a Hamper – Whisky, wine , beer , Gin Vodka is there to kick start your holiday – with a private bartender coming in every Evening.

The staff was attentive as well as genuine and discreet. The concierge can arrange a nanny, a Goan Band, BBQ etc . Additionally, Vescape can customize for you, your Breakfast and Meals just give them a 12-24 hour pre notice. They can pre-stock your villa with groceries , drinks etc.

A perfect getaway in Goa for families and friends!

It’s a 5 bedroom, 7 bathroom villa with a small private pool, heated outdoor Jacuzzi amongst beautiful palm trees. There is outdoor deck, small lotus pond, a large living room with state of the art sound system and 84” flat led TV. Property has a beautiful outdoor bar which they stock up with complimentary all kinds of finest alcohol. At least our package included that! They arranged for a personal bartender in evenings for 90 min to do cocktails on demand. There are easy to control outdoor speakers in bar area, pool deck and living room which made a music buff like me feel right at home. Each bedroom has 55” flat tv, motorised curtains and blackout drapes, best quality mattress and finest linen. Almirah space is more than sufficient. Each room has private mini locker and en-suite bathrooms are fitted with best toiletries. Master suite upstairs has a beautiful and super spacious bathroom. Both the upstairs room have sit out areas overlooking the pool and garden. One of the downstairs room has outdoor shower in bathroom.

Staff is always at service and can cook special meals for you on demand. Quality of food was excellent. In house baked muffins were to die for.

Our package also included complimentary use of the 3 Mercedez GLC that the property maintains. Villa was just 20 min from most of the major restaurants and party areas in north Goa.
