Wood House Beach Resort — Hotel in Goa

I had stayed in this hotel for 3 nights during 1st week of Dec-21 along with my family.||||This is a small resort but gives a good Value for Money. Here is my unbiased review, I hope this shall help you making choice.||||1. Hotel is at walking distance (1-2 minutes walk) from Calangute beach, which is the most and best happening place in entire Goa.||So, while going to beach, you will not need to carry, Towels/extra cloths/bags etc. You simply walk into the resort room within 2 minutes after playing in Sea water.||The beach shacks are easily accessible, so no need to worry for driving a vehicle after drinking alcohol.||||2. Rooms are well maintained and clean. ||3. Toilets/Bathroom are clean and maintained.||4. Beds/Bedsheets/Towel were clean.||5. Rooms are just in front of the Pool. So, when you step out of of room, you are standing at Pool.||6. Service was quick / good and efficient with staff being friendly and helpful.||||7. Rooms are small. But that doesn't matter, as tourist don't spend much time at room. When you are on tour to goa, you will spend most of the time enjoying outside.||||8. The swimming pool is very small, but even that is not a problem for 2 reasons. The first reason is that this hotel has only about 20 rooms, so there is no crowed at pool, and we being family enjoyed the swimming pool too. The second reason is that, you have the most famous beach of Goa at the doorsteps. Tourist prefer to go to beach and don't really need a swimming pool.||||9. Food options and availability was limited, but there are good restaurants at the stone throwing distance, and they deliver the food/drinks at this resort within minimal time. Also, some good beach shacks are easily available for eating food / drinking alcohol.||||To summarize: ||This hotel proved to be a very good choice, for Family as well as for non family tourist (we had 2 groups of bachelor staying in other rooms and they too enjoyed a lot without any causing problem).||Cleanliness and neatness of the rooms added the comfort and Ease of access to the beach was the best part entire Goa tour.||The hotel is worth staying and...

The place is a small hotel and not resort in any sense. The rooms are good, spacious and bed size is a good one so you can relax and sleep comfortably.

It is actually a small hotel and NOT at all a resort. There are NO amenities or any arrangements for any activities except a small swimming pool that is 4 or 5 feet deep. The area is the same what you see in the pics 6 rooms(huts) on each side of pool. That's it. Nothing more.

They have Double Standards for guests. We were a group of 10 adults and 5 kids. The restaurant they have is like a small room where it is difficult to make 10-12 people sit at a time for lunch/dinner so we asked them to serve us dinner at the pool side itself and we were ready to sit on floor as well but they Denied saying it is against their policy. We accepted it and had dinner in some manner at their "restaurant". The surprise came next day morning at time of breakfast. It was a buffet breakfast (that's common) but it was at tht "Pool side" where earlier they said it is "against their policy" to serve food near the pool side. Hence I consider it to be A double standard.

The other thing that i think can be corrected is to provide a stand or small basket to put the tooth brush and paste and a napkin so it makes a bit convenient for the guests.

Also 1 or 2 horizontal partitions in the cupboards can make things much easier that separate the refrigerator area from the storage area. Or place te refrigerator under the tv unit. And if both are done it would be very good and convenient.

Also though they have their own kitchen but they close it at 10:30pm when most of the restaurants close at 11:00pm and many used to serve food 24 hours. I am not asking them to provide all the food items at all times but some basic things like milk, shakes and light breakfast should be available for most part of the time, for example 1:00am. so as if any guest returning to hotel needs something, they can get it, or like us those who have kids get things at...

I want to give negative stars for this hotel. We booked it for 3 days. 2 days for cottage and 1 day for deluxe room. When we shifted to deluxe room, the ac was not working and we all 3 person of family were sweating a lot due to the humidity and heat of the room. When we called service staff they said the ac is working. I think they are not from this planet. Then I called the hotel owner to change my room to cottage or refund me as they have taken full amount of booking In advance,hotel owner shifted my room to his another hotel near by and it was more worst than before, the power was keep going and coming. They do not have inverter or generator for power backup. We spent while night in humid room. And they even did not change the dirty bed sheet pillow cover when we entered the room. They changed those things when we frequently insisted them and the behavior the both hotel staff is rude and very casual. They don't have manners to talk. They did not even provide basic things like shampoo and bath soap. Intercom was also not working. The hotel was more feeling like paid jail. Break fast was also not good. And from 3 days we ate break fast only 1 day. This hotel is ok for 500-700rs per night. Not more than that. There are good hotels in this budget near by this hotel. The hotel service and facility ruined about trip on last day. They want easy money only without giving facility to their guests. Hope you find some other...
