I booked for 4 nights but as i entered the room, I decided to check out the next morning.
I asked to see rooms of all categories including the one I booked. 2 rooms were shown by staff within the mobile torch light..not enough intelligence with the front office person and staff to carry the room keys (card) so that rooms can be shown with proper lights. I opted for next category room...i was told that it's not available for my entire stay period. What's the logic of showing rooms then?
I entered my booked room then requested them for change of room as the washroom looks were quite shabby....looks like a common washroom of a dharamshala or of a dormitory. The room changed but there was not much difference.
Pros Overall lobby and restaurant area are good. The front office staff is polite. Restaurant menu, environment and staff is good.
Cons Quite small rooms. No proper almirah or cupboard in room...a small cabinet type almirah is there....kind of an arrangement. Spring Mattress- not at all comfortable and stable. Stained tiles in washroom. Just located on main road in a busy market area....full city hustle bustle. Lot of garbage on main road once you step out of hotel. Lousy room service. I ordered some food from the restaurant...told the waiter to clear after 30 min....he told me to keep used plates outside the room and he will pick them up.... those used plates were not picked up till next morning till 8:30 pm. No booklet of in house phone numbers or even a restaurant menu is not available in the room. I dialed 0 or 9 in fluke to connect to reception and it connected. I insisted on a menu, the person delivered a photocopy page with very limited items... however in the restaurant the same menu was available in a fine and presentable format. Shower area and it's door is too narrow as the door can't open to full extent...it's hardly opens for 1.5 ft due to its design. Food quality is very avg. Torn and very old towels... I saw from the label the towel was 3 years old and was already used in Fab hotels. I open the curtain in morning to see outside view. Could see only local houses in the neighborhood having clothes drying on line and nothing...
Read moreThere is no doubt you will get complete value for money for the price you pay. The room is nice and comfortable, clean bathroom and a good bed. Importantly I had a nice sleep. The breakfast spread was decent enough.
However there is quite a room for improvement and I found few things quite. Let me point them out
The AC in the room does not work once you check in. I had to call twice to the Front desk to get it activated. While appreciate the concern of saving power but it leads to unnecessary inconvenience. My sister who is from Switzerland was in Hyderabad at the same time. She dropped in to pay me a visit with a box of Swiss chocolate. Strangely, the staff did not let her in my room because the hotel policy prohibits visitors to enter the room. I found this really weird. When I asked for the Wi-Fi password the front office informed me that I will receive SMS on my mobile phone. Unfortunately, despite me following up twice it was not sent to me. I found this quite ridiculous because in today’s world the Wi-Fi is a necessary
Overall I figured out the hotel and trying to keep its competitive advantage has budgeted pricing however it is finding very difficult to maintain the same. Therefore there seems to be a lot of cost saving policies which comes out on the face and somehow creates inconvenience for the customers.
Though I had a good sleep and was happy with the room I don’t think I’m going to come back here, just because of the experience.
Lastly small suggestion from my side. The hot water from the shower takes a lot of time to come out. This leads to unnecessary waste of water. Probably, the hotel might review this And reduce some wastage of water which will directly help them in...
Read moreVery bad experience, I feel you are at par with some local joints/hotels. Bad-smelling rooms, unhygienic Bed sheets, covers and towels.
The food quality is very bad. When I try to place an order for Room Dining I am told it is not available that too very basic articles which are easily available at the local food dhabas.
The breakfast buffet has very limited options. Whatever is on your Buffet list isn't available to pick as either they ran out of that thing or got it ready for which the waiting period was over 15-20 minutes. Your staff at the Breakfast buffet are unresponsive to the request placed except for one female staff member who was ensuring the tables were cleaned ASAP. The bread toasted (on demand) in your kitchen seems toasted on Tava instead of Bread Toaster.
Your overall staff looks very clueless. They aren't aware of the property itself. While checking out I handed over my keys and the lady confirmed with me about room no. though it was stated by me as well mentioned on the key. Still, she put across details of another room that was not mine. Then she asked if anything was consumed from the Minibar (which wasn't in the room), to which I told her this was the worst property of Hometel and her entire staff was clueless about the facilities of the hotel. She smiled at my face and looked at her fellow member.
You need some good management who can look at these issues, not the ones who are standing, listening but busy on...
