Landed there in an emergency situation after we had a flop show at the originally-booked hotel which looked and felt nothing like the pictures. The lady at the counter showed little sympathy and charged double the price for their worst room and never offered any bill for the same. I could sense that there were some quiet rooms too but we were given the one in the worst condition since we had little energy left to go check out other places and the owner took advantage of it. There were youngsters screaming and partying on the next terrace, making it even worse since the bed in the room was already making loud noises plus the noisy and faulty bathroom door that wouldn't even close. The bathroom was dark and the water supply was too slow. We spent the whole night killing time outside the room as there was no way we could sleep in there. There was nobody to help at any time. The staff (one overworked guy) seemed helpless as he responded in half-asleep condition. Since this is a home stay, the owners stay just downstairs. We heard them chatting around 2:30 AM when they came back from wherever they had gone. I highlighted the room's terrible condition and our inability to sleep because of extreme noise and uncomfortable bed, and all he had to offer was a promise to change the room next day. The young guys next door faced similar situation and also decided to cut their stay short as us. The owners showed zero regret the next day too and charged us the full amount of an already-exaggerated price for a whole day's stay in exchange for 12 hours of sitting and killing time in the terrace area outside the room, but they were particularly nice towards foreigners offering them their quieter and better maintained rooms, of course, at prices an Indian would never pay them given the pathetic conditions. I also saw one lady (from the host family) harassing Indian guests and forcing them to check out at 9:30 AM. She even came to us trying to sell us a cab service to our next destination which we decided to go to a day before the schedule time because of such horrible hotel experience, apparently they wanted to earn more from us by earning commission on cab bookings. Such businesses bring a shame to good cities forcing tourists to form an adverse opinion about locals and never return. Please don't loot tourists.
P.S. We still can’t believe that we paid for this place for giving us 12 hours of torture in December’s cold and on the first day of our vacay. We just didn’t have the energy to argue but the owners are so greedy. Pathetic...

Read morenot value for money, feel like we were scammed. we paid 6000 per night for what can be described as barely acceptable accommodation. i have been around living in airbnb accommodations and know fully well what to expect, in fact i did airbnbs in udaipur and jaisalmer as well for around INR 3000 per night. with that in perspective ...
pros:
functioning AC, TV, hot water, clean linen
were kind enough to provide an extra mattress.
cons:
not value for money. feel like we were hustled and scammed. long rant below.
breakfast was advertised as part of the package but was not provided. we ended up ordering separately and were charged a premium. upon pointing this out at the time of checkout — the elderly gentleman asked me to double check — i showed him the airbnb mail, he then deducted an arbitrary amount — much less than what we were charged. i had no interest in arguing with him as i had a long journey ahead to jaisalmer.
— cash only on food and beverages. RED flag.
— kitchen does not start until 8:30 AM. no drinking water or hot water kettle. this is a big problem as there are no cafes close by.
— management will push you to eat at jhankar, a restaurant they operate and will also sell their village and camel safari. the former is just a way for local artisans to sell their wares directly — which i don’t mind — and the latter was a sham in comparison to the jaisalmer camel safaris. if you are traveling onwards to jaisalmer i recommend a safari there.
— dingy lighting, forget about reading a book by the bedside.
— jodhpur is a filthy city — dirty beyond imagination — notwithstanding the stunning architecture. the blue house is not accessible easily and we had a tough time locating the pickup point. we were asked to park on the street and took a rickshaw...
