I have no idea how this restaurant has such a great rating. I went there specifically because of it's high Google rating. I've been in India for the past month, and this was hands-down the worst restaurant I've been to. 1) The staff were more interested in flying kites (literally) than attending to their one customer (me). 2) I made it crystal clear that I wanted my chicken curry very very spicy -- it came to me with zero spice at all, the chicken was cold, bland and full of sharp bones. Even after sending it back to have spices added to it, it was returned to me with barely any additional flavoring. 3) I asked for ice for the giant bottle of Pepsi I ordered (not knowing how big it would be), and they brought me hardly enough to cool a single glass. 4) Walking up and down the stairs to and from the restaurant was harrowing due to lack of hand-rails and the hallway stunk to high heaven (smelling like raw sewerage). 5) The prices are not very reasonable at all (especially considering the low quality...
Read moreThis is an excellent hotel (The name of the hotel is actually named Blue Stay) and restaurant on the rooftop (named Blue Bird). First about the hotel. Though not very impressive from outside the interior is superb. The rooms are spacious with all essential ammenities and extremely clean. The location is central and 15 min walk from the fort through the old Jodhpur area and 5 min from the clocktower and marketplace. The staff is helpful, cordial and honest. The rates are 1600 rs for single room and 2200 rs for a room for 4 people. The single room can actually accommodate 2 people if you squeeze a bit. If you stay beyond checkin time you can book a single room for half a day, if available.
Now about the rooftop restaurant. It is a non veg restaurant where you get a variety of Indian and continental food. We sampled both and both are equally good in taste. The price is very resonable and you get a superb view of the castle from the rooftop (see photo below)

Now the Blue Bird holds a special place in my heart, especially after my recent visit for a dinner party. As I stepped onto the charming terrace, my gaze was immediately captured by the panoramic view of the majestic Mehrangarh Fort, which took on an entirely new and enchanting aura under the night sky. The warm and attentive staff made our dinner party an unforgettable experience, ensuring every detail was perfect. And when it comes to the cuisine, the super delicious food here is nothing short of a gastronomic masterpiece, leaving a lasting impression on everyone in attendance. The Blue Bird with its stunning views, impeccable service, and culinary delights, is not just a place to visit, it's an experience to savor. My recent dinner party here only reaffirmed its status as undeniably the best spot in town.
