Worst!! We made a recent booking directly through they website and received and email confirmation about the room been booked, but the day before we had to check in i made a call to be sure about the booking and was informed that they have no clue about the booking and was asked to check for other options, upon argument the owner decided to help and make arrangement at another nearby hotel (OYO 22816 Home Modern Studio Dechur) which was worst than i could ever imagine , the hotel was located in the middle of no where, 3km's away from any basic restaurant and Madikeri Bus stop plus no one to attend, the owner of this OYO room never gave any details about check out time but above that misbehaved and threatened me that he was about to call the police to break up the room while we where away as it was beyond the check out time. +++ the ugly part is the 1st owner who helped booked this place calls and says "Donot complaint to me about the issues there and kept & dont pay the rest due amount but enjoy with that for the rest of my life" what a pathetic experience it has been . i would strongly recommend not to book room either @ #OYO #22816 Home Modern Studio Dechur &...
Read moreHolidayincoorg Cozy Nest is indeed a very cosy place to stay in Madikeri for a quick weekend getaway or even for longer stays.
It's pretty close to Raja Seat and the main market in Madikeri, which is actually pretty helpful if you need anything quickly because you can go and get food, medicine, snacks etc from the market.
It's a proper HomeStay with all the basis facilities. When you enter this HomeStay, the caretaker greets you and explains every single this that is essential to know about the HomeStay and also about Madikeri/Coorg if you ask him.
They also have home made wines and coffee if anyone is interested in buying it. In the morning they bring you breakfast and tea at around 7:30-8:00 AM.
It's pretty convenient to arrive in Madikeri by your own vehicle as you have you have your own freedom to roam around and secondly this is a pretty crazy place for someone who loves driving. (Also this HomeStay has a parking just in front of it)
Overall everything at my stay at this Cosy Nest was pretty good except the fact that the bedsheets and towels were not as clean as they were supposed to be and there was no refrigerator...
Read moreThe owner of the place is an extremely shrewd businessman. The place is nice and well equipped with basics, no doubt, but the owner made it an overall bad experience. I had an experience similar to Mr. Mukul Dhagay's from the comments. Since we were tourists, we asked the owner if he could help us with information about options to explore around Madikeri. We were mislead, and literally tricked into paying around 300 rupees per head for a jeep ride to a hillock some 4-5 km away, which was easily reachable by our own vehicle. We were told that there would be no cell service and we'd need a guide for the uphill trek, but upon reaching, we found that there was cell service with proper internet connectivity there, and the guide was not required at all. It was a pretty straightforward trek. When called to talk about the same, Mr. Prince argued and said he would pay for us, and it wasn't a big deal to him. Rude behavior like this towards tourists might earn money, but certainly adds up as a bad reputation. Please consider other options before...
