Hotel Mayura Valley View in Madikeri offers a mixed experience for visitors. On one hand, the atmosphere and scenic views from the restaurant are absolutely stunning. Perched on a hillside, the hotel provides breathtaking panoramas of the lush valleys and misty landscapes of Coorg, making it a perfect spot for nature lovers and those looking to unwind in a tranquil setting. The ambiance of the restaurant is serene and inviting, with a spacious dining area that allows guests to soak in the natural beauty while enjoying their meal. The staff is courteous and attentive, ensuring a comfortable dining experience. The well-maintained gardens and the overall cleanliness of the property further add to its appeal. However, the food at Hotel Mayura Valley View leaves something to be desired. During my visit, I found the quality and taste of the dishes to be somewhat disappointing compared to other local restaurants. While the menu offers a variety of options, the flavors and presentation did not meet the expectations set by the restaurant's otherwise high standards. Despite the underwhelming culinary experience, the stunning location and pleasant atmosphere make Hotel Mayura Valley View a place worth visiting, especially for those who value a serene environment and beautiful views. With some improvements to the food quality, this hotel has the potential to offer a truly exceptional...

Service in restaurant - 2/5, a most important point for overall rating it 2 out of 5.
At the restaurant they serve up to your table but not to your plate ( not even on request politely, not even when you are with family ).
At my age of 44, 1st time I have seen when restaurants serve food up to the table but not to your plate ( even on request) .
This is a big lack of hospitality, especially if you are not enjoying a buffet and ordered al a carte. I feel this policy needs a recheck.
Breakfast options are very limited.
The food quality & taste is not up to the mark.
They served sambar with set dosa, not sagu . On request they gave some aloo palaya but that's too dry, does not go with the set dosa.
Even masala dosa was tasteless. Same with the samber and chatni, it's not fresh coconut chutney.
Even with all other nonveg and veg items , the taste is not up to the mark ( we tried it during lunch & dinner on 11th August 2024 - Sunday )
For the restaurant my overall rating is 2/5.
Food price - Reasonable. Alcohol - They serve. Taste - average. Quantity - ok Waiting period after placing order - reasonable. Parking - Ample parking area.
ONE IMPORT POINT: THEY DO NOT SERVE PORK 😔 WHICH IS DISAPPOINTING, SPECIALLY IN COORG.

Read moreI only had food from the restaurant, didn't stay at the hotel. Anybody who is thinking about a sunset at Raja's seat should consider this restaurant as it is much less crowded place compared to Raja's seat in the evening and also offers probably better view.
The food might not be my main reason to go back to this restaurant again. But with food, choice of beverage and the view, this place is worth visiting.
All of the coorg special food we asked for were not available during lunch time. I'm not sure if it is a regular thing or just an exception that day.
I was wondering, if it wasn't a government property would it be even better in terms of facilities and services? Anyway it is definitely a decent place to hang out.
There were temperature checks at the entrance. All the people who take order are wearing a mask. So they are taking the Covid precautions.
There is ample space for car parking. I believe the rooms have a view of the valley. So it must be a good place to stay that is also very central to most important attractions in the nearby areas.
So if you are looking for a relaxing drink with a view in Madikeri, this...
