Went through Oyo. Hotel is located in the centre of Mangalore within walking distance from Mangalore Central railway station. The breakfast spread when I was there was sumptuous and good. However rooms are run down, room ambience is dirty and furniture hasn't been refurbished in a long time. Key cards are an inconvenience, toilets are clean but hot water is only available in morning. Hospitality though is a big let down with the receptionist trying his level best to finagle extra money from each and every customer. This is probably the only hotel I have seen in recent times which doesn't even offer a bottle of water, but has a minibar with inflated prices for everything from chocolate to water. Have already complained to Oyo, definitely cannot recommend this hotel until they mend ways.
Reply to OYO: Thank you for your reply, Oyo! I never had any problems with Oyo and you were kind enough to give me a refund for my stay. I am not sure if anything has changed with respect to this particular hotel, so unless I hear otherwise I shall go to some other Oyo hotel in...
Read moreWe had a very comfortable stay. The guy at the reception was extremely courteous. He allowed me to view the 2 suites and then choose which I preferred. He also helped me decide my lunch and dinner menu for the 5 nights I was there. And I was not disappointed. My apologies, I haven't the christian guy's name. The in-house restaurant, again forgotten the name, was excellent. Loved the coffee there. We would order fry fish every single day and yet couldn't get enough of it. But that's just a minor problem. The location is good too. Waking distance to all shopping area, to the old Taj Mahal hotel and Milagres Church. A couple of cons, hot water is time restricted. We were not aware of this and ended up wasting so much water the first day waiting for hot water to come. The lighting in the dining area is very poor. Buffet is complimentary and was repetitive. By end of the trip was bored looking at the same spread. Apart from these there were no concerns at all. Had a lovely time there and will...
Read moreFirstly the so called manager at morning 5am was arguing that rooms can only be early checked in after confirming over telephone. on requesting and assuring that il check out before 5am next morning only he gave me a room. AC was very noisy, paper roll in toilet was not kept earlier. rooms were too small, the room service was poor as I asked for towel twice, then only I got it. the furniture was very very old, didn't felt like using it. mattresses were of poor quality and were torn at some places. nothing special in veenu international. morning buffet was ok the management was very cheap and poor as I asked for a print out for my upcoming journey. hot water availability isn't immediate but takes more time to come out of taps. the towels provided were very old and seemed to be next to rugs used. they needed...
