Hi all. Wanted to keep you all aware about the weirdest and rudest policy followed by this hotel. I would never ever recommend anyone to visit fragrant nature hotels. I had visited their kochi hotel restaurant with my husband and daughter. Post having lunch while we stepped out to the lobby and was about to take a selfie with my family, the front office staff came up and said as per their hotel policy none of the guests is allowed to take picture inside their lobby. They said it was their company policy and The chairman and their MD has instructed them to inform their guests.
I work with a global corporate company as Director customer success. I extensively travel and stay at many 7 star and 5 star luxurious properties and never heard of such a nasty hotel policy. I take this as an insult to myself and my family and would not want any of my friends or anyone to visit Fragrant nature hotels which doesn’t value or respect their customers. We pay as per their rate cards mentioned in their menu and doesn’t question or check if it’s even worth that rate. Post making payment at their restaurant, while I walk out to their lobby I was insulted with their useless and weirdest policy from the hotel front desk team. The staff and their AM confirmed that their GM Harikrishna will speak to me however I didn’t receive any call nor an apology. That shows the unprofessional attitude of the hotel staff and management.
While going through few articles I read about the MD and chairman Mr Sajeev and Mrs Anne planning to invest and expand their hotel chain outside Kerala. But with this unprofessional policies and rude customer service how can they even keep up to a good customer experience. If they don’t care for their customers in their own home land how can they ever treat anyone well from outside Kerala.
I would never visit any of their hotels nor will ever recommend anyone to visit them. We all do have our self respect and need not lose it for such an unprofessional hotel group #stay away from fragrant...
Read moreI stayed here for almost 3 weeks in 2022 and thereafter gave rave reviews. The hotel at the time was newly renovated and I was one in a handful of guests (post pandemic) receiving VIP treatment. In a year‘s time a few things have noticeably changed.
Our room faced a mosque which woke us up at 5 am with morning prayers loud enough to wake up the dead! I truly respect all religions but I would like to choose when I wake up. It is especially annoying when one is on vacation, jet lagged and has had a late night. The windows are surprisingly not soundproof which would be expected of a hotel of this standing.
As for the other surprises…it seems like our toilet bowl was put in in a hurry since it was installed at an angle, giving one a sliding feeling. The sink though generous in size was cracked and the wooden cupboards in the room, reeked of mould. Our towels appeared well-worn, rough and yellow. Also not reflective of a star hotel.
Room service and housekeeping extensions are unreachable unless you go through the reception rendering those buttons on your phone quite useless.
Our welcome drinks were lukewarm shots of beetroot juice. Tasty but meant to be served chilled. The reception staff were polite and helpful.
The hotel surroundings and room views are shockingly unkempt with garbage dumps and dilapidated, uninhabited houses giving one a haunting feeling. Only the rooftop boasts spectacular views of the port and bay. The pool and its surroundings are definitely a highlight.
All in all, my last stay at this property unless the owners see reason to save this erstwhile gem. A boutique hotel designed to perfection like a grand dutch mansion but alas falling short on significant aspects which ensure a traveler’s comfort and relaxation. I returned with my family to show off this hotel but regret my enthusiasm. I hope the owners and management are listening carefully and will do something to reinstate this hotel to...
Read moreWhat a little gem of a hotel right in the authentic port of Fort kochi . Initially it seemed like a bit of a shock as It’s not in a posh part of town but it feels as if you are experiencing the real India . The hotel is like an oasis . From the minute you walk in the bright yellow doors you are greeted by friendly welcoming staff . The reception staff , especially Sandra couldn’t do enough for you to make sure you experienced the best stay . The rooms are spacious with comfortable beds and lovely big bathroom with a great shower . The hotel has a lovely ambience and wonderful views over the city and sea from the rooftop and pool area . I was amazed at the amount of birds of prey as in brahimny kites that were resting on the nearby trees and catching thermals . The hotel offers a free cooking demonstration at 4 pm most days which was great to see and sample the food . I highly recommend trying the Gobi Manchurian dry - a cauliflower dish . The staff in the restaurant were so obliging and went out of their way one night we were running late to have our order ready and waiting for us . The breakfast had enough choices with its buffet . The spa has a wonderful ambience and it’s worth choosing a massage to suit you . I just can’t get over how lovely and helpful the staff were from the hotel . The hotel is only a couple of years old and so it was in excellent condition . It’s great to get a tuk tuk from outside the hotel - check with the hotel if they approve and explore the palace, churches,Chinese fishing nets and wonderful quaint shops filled with antiquities and artefacts in JewTown . All up this wonderful boutique hotel made for a fabulous introduction to India. I highly recommend...
