Are you a Biryani lover??! then this is the heaven, the perfect place, the place which you were searching for. You will get the Delicious & Tastiest Biriyani in entire Fort Kochi and Mattancheri may be in the world because I loved it thus much. They are famous by the name "kayikkas biriyani"(കായിക്കാസ് ബിരിയാണി) made of ultra smooth rice 😋. Their special dish is 'Mutton Biryani' This special dish will run-out by the time around 01.30pm, that much demand it have, if you want it, then you should be there before 1pm. A small shop with a huge crowd. Nothing to say more about their Biriyani Heavy tast👌🏻 seriously something different, loved !t💕. They don't serve beef Biriyani, their Biryani is very special than any other Biryani shops in Fort Kochi and Mattancheri, also decent customer service 👍🏻. Not so expensive. But the hand wash area is little bit congested, except that, everything is fine. The first thing that I heard when I started working in Fort Kochi was about this shop 'kaayikka's biriyani shop' because I'm a foodholic😜 then I felt like I should taste it, and that's how I came here. Now I'm a daily customer, atleast I'll go once a week there😎 Pls note, it is a heavily crowded place. No parking area is provided, you should use the streets nearby. Attached the menu with the review; it maybe helpful.

Kayees Rahmatullah Café in Mattanchery is a legendary spot that lives up to its reputation. I recently had the pleasure of trying their mutton biryani, and it was an experience that satisfied both my taste buds and soul. The biryani's rice was cooked to perfection, each grain infused with rich flavors and an aroma that was simply irresistible. The mutton was tender and enveloped in a blend of spices that was both delightfully complex and perfectly balanced. The accompanying sides, including the salads and pickles, were fresh and provided a lovely contrast to the rich biryani. They added just the right amount of tanginess and crunch, making every bite a well-rounded experience. What truly stood out was the overall experience—the aroma, taste, and presentation all came together to create a meal that was not just about eating, but about enjoying every moment. The atmosphere at Kayees Rahmatullah Café is welcoming and nostalgic, with a sense of history that adds to the charm of dining there. It’s a place that fills not just your stomach but also your heart, leaving you with a sense of peace and satisfaction. If you're in Mattanchery, this café is an absolute must-visit for an unforgettable biryani experience.

It seems that the Biryanis at this restaurant are very famous. They serve excellent mutton and chicken biryani as well as other non-vegetarian dishes like fish, mutton, beef and chicken gravies and masalas. There are very few vegetarian dishes on the menu. I ordered a Chicken Biryani and my wife wanted to have a Fish Roast. After about ten minutes waiting at the table we were told that Fish Roast was not available and that was a disappoinment. We decided to share our biryani. As it is, we were sharing our table with another couple because the restaurant was so crowded, and there was a group of foreigners waiting outside for a table. The biryani was accompanied by a papadam, a sweet and spicy dip, and some tomato-onion kachumber raita salad. It tasted spicy good, and there were two pieces of chicken in it which included a leg. There was a good quantity and quality of flavoured rice. The price was very reasonable at ₹130. The ambience and décor of the restaurant was a bit depressing. It was overcrowded and there was very poor ventilation in the dining hall. If we had not shared our table we might have been waiting much longer. But it was a biryani to die for.

It was a great experience dining here. From here, We had a Mutton Biriyani and Chicken biriyani from here. Both of them was so delicious and melt it mouth. Just felt very nostalgic Authentic Kochi style biriyani. Chicken in the biriyani was well cooked and very soft. The rice was also very flavorful and soft. I prefer Mutton over chicken here. Mutton was very soft, succulent and so flavorful. The flavor of the mutton went well into biriyani and given biriyani a beautiful flavor. It just went like melt in mouth. It came along with nostalgic lemon pickle, dates pickle and pickled onion and pappadom. Even though it came with this much sides, I felt like the biriyanis served here can be finished without any sides. One of the most iconic and delicious biriyani in Kochi. It is that biriyani which is still a nostalgia. This place is situated in a very narrow road and hence parking will be an issue. So at peak time it is better to keep your vehicle safe somewhere a walk to here. Highly Recommended for that Authentic Kochi style biriyani. It is an old restaurant which still maintains that heritage so dont expect fancy interiors. It is a place with a minimal and heritage interior but serves some delicious dishes with...
