Are you a Biryani lover??! then this is the heaven, the perfect place, the place which you were searching for. You will get the Delicious & Tastiest Biriyani in entire Fort Kochi and Mattancheri may be in the world because I loved it thus much. They are famous by the name "kayikkas biriyani"(കായിക്കാസ് ബിരിയാണി) made of ultra smooth rice 😋. Their special dish is 'Mutton Biryani' This special dish will run-out by the time around 01.30pm, that much demand it have, if you want it, then you should be there before 1pm. A small shop with a huge crowd. Nothing to say more about their Biriyani Heavy tast👌🏻 seriously something different, loved !t💕. They don't serve beef Biriyani, their Biryani is very special than any other Biryani shops in Fort Kochi and Mattancheri, also decent customer service 👍🏻. Not so expensive. But the hand wash area is little bit congested, except that, everything is fine. The first thing that I heard when I started working in Fort Kochi was about this shop 'kaayikka's biriyani shop' because I'm a foodholic😜 then I felt like I should taste it, and that's how I came here. Now I'm a daily customer, atleast I'll go once a week there😎 Pls note, it is a heavily crowded place. No parking area is provided, you should use the streets nearby. The famous Kayees Biriyani...! I've heard a lot about it in every foodie blog or magazine about kochi. I came here quite unexpectedly on my way to fort kochi. I was amazed to see the big crowd waiting to taste their signature dish, the kayees chicken biriyani. I couldn't even find one single table without people waiting for their turn to dine in. So I decided to buy it and take away. I had to wait around 10 minutes to get my food parcel. Before I even opened the food box, the tantalizing aroma of the biriyani made me realize why this is so special among the local foodies and even foreigners. The aroma is so irresistible. The biriyani had cooked chicken instead of fried ones. The spices are the best part. We can taste the quality of spices as we have every bite of it. The biriyani was not at all oily, I didn't felt any kind of hangover like I used to have after any heavy meal. It was so tasty that I strongly felt going back and buying one more (seriously).... Now I'm a Kayees Biriyani fan... I'll definitely come back for more... If you haven't tasted it yet, rush to kayees rahmatullah cafe and give your taste buds this delicious treat.

The place is located bit interior from the city, hence you may find it bit hard to reach the spot. However if your determination and urge to have the most tasty biryani is tingling your taste buds then those little travel out of your comfort can be a cake walk. Yes of course Google Maps will defenitly be there to assist and still confused you can ask for direction. People are quiet friendly. If you are travelling by a car, major hurdle is the space to park, . But with little twist and turns I could park mine😊. The resturant is not too spacious but the biriyani they serve is soo good. The masala used is biriyani is too good that I was licking my fingers 🤤. I can vouch that this place can be ranked top under Cochin's best Mutton Biriyani serving Hotels. I have tried Mutton Roast and Chiken fry along with Biriyani and those were good too. If you are super conscious about cleanliness of the hotel you may not be soo happy about this place. But if you are looking for a tasty and an affordable Biriyani special hotel you can really head to this place.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Kayees Restaurant , a restaurant located at Mattancherry. When I visited only Chicken Biriyani and Chicken Fry was available. The person who was at the counter was very friendly too. You might have to wait some time in order to get a seat during busy hours. Food:- This was my second time trying Kayees Chicken Biriyani and it did not disappoint me. The only problem was that when I received the biriyani there was no chicken pieces included, and when i had asked about it they quickly came and served me the pieces for the biriyani, also it was a bit hot to sit inside as there was only one fan for two or three big tables. Other than that Kayees was a good experience for me. Cost :- Kayees Chicken Biriyani-₹140/- It is worth for that money. Also keep in mind that they serve with more quantity so if you are a light eater then it would be better to share a biriyani with another person. But it depends from person to person. Parking space is not there and would be difficult to park vehicles.

This is an old fashion, no-frills restaurant that offers their signature Biriyani in two variants: Mutton & Chicken. The place can get highly congested during Fridays & weekends. "People with family members are recommended to either dine in here before 12:30PM, or visit their city side branch at Ernakulam, near Durbar Hall". Coming to food, Biriyani (both Mutton & Chicken) are unbeatable and incomparable with other restaurants. This is a unique authentic biriyani containing long grain rice, well cooked meat pieces in ghee/dalda, with pineapple bits served with lime & dates pickle and kerala pappads. The place doesn't get 5 🌟 as the staff is not keen to get you a seat on first come first serve basis. You yourself should take the responsibility of managing a seat for dining. No other items besides biriyani is served here, not even basic items like bottled water, cool drinks or non-veg sides. Cleanliness is something the staff is less keen about.
