Hotel Sumangali — Hotel in Kerala

Just 20 meters from the beach , less than 2 minutes walking. The building was quite old but very clean and neat rooms with fair price tags. There is a clothing shop included in the hotel , i guess they are running separately. A/C , hot water , wi-fi available except the power cut time , unfortunately this hotel doesn't have a generator ( manager says they running the hotel under lease agreement so there is no option to install by them self , it's cost a lot ) other than that, it is a pleasent full place to stay with peace. mosquitos are less even when you sleep without lock the balcony door ( only if you like the continues symphony of the sea ) . Balcony have enough spacious for four people with beautiful garden view. We had the access to their small staff kitchen which is also clean and neat equipped with enough plates , glass and a coffee maker. Anyone can use this facility with the things keep in order.

The man who take care the whole property properly is very nimble by behaviour and provide services at anytime with a call ( there is no land phone in the room ). Situated in light house beach Kovalam, Sumangali offers accommodation only. Just like other hotels in this beach, this hotel also doesn't have a direct access to the main road thus any cab/taxi cannot enter near the property. U have to walk at least 300 mtrs to reach the property. But hotel employees will come to the taxi stop with their hand cart to carry all the luggages u have up to your room. The property has two different blocks, a new block and a old one. I stayed in the new one which is three floors. We were in 2nd floor which has sea view rooms and balcony view rooms. Just in front of it there is a restaurant which is open from morning 9 to 10 in the night. Which also blocks the view of the sea from ground floor. Old building does not have sea view rooms but from balcony one can see the sea. Staffs are very much friendly and cooperative. They r there for u all the time. Rooms r ok. Stayed during last week of Dec22. We booked AC rooms from goibibo. We reached in late evening and called the hotel to pick the luggage. Check-in was smooth as was provided rooms within 5min. Hotel is just on the Kovalam beach but rooms are mostly not sea facing. AC rooms are spacious and a few of them are having a attached balcony from where you can see the sea. Rooms are basic mostly. Furniture provided are sufficient to keep the things. AC and Fridge was in working condition. Provided with towel but not with any toiletries. They don't have any power back and can be painful. There is no as such reception for the hotel. There are 2-3 guys who take care of the hotel and they usually roam around near the hotel. They don't have any restaurant inhouse.
