Moon Valley Cottage — Hotel in Kerala

I booked this room expecting a comfortable queen bed for a romantic getaway, but was utterly disappointed to find two single cots pushed together instead. While the room itself might be okay, the sleeping situation is completely unacceptable for a queen bed listing.

Here's why this arrangement is a major letdown:

Uncomfortable and Unromantic:

Clots provide a narrow, divided sleeping surface, leaving a gap in the middle that disrupts sleep and intimacy. Sharing a single mattress on two frames is awkward and uncomfortable, not ideal for a couple seeking closeness.

Misleading Description:

The listing advertised a queen bed space, which implies a single, unified sleeping surface suitable for two adults. Finding two separate cots instead feels like false advertising and a bait-and-switch tactic.

Reduced Sleep Quality:

The gap between the cots creates an unstable sleeping area, increasing the risk of falling or rolling into the crack. This makes it difficult to get a good night's sleep, which is crucial for any vacation. Overall, this discrepancy between the advertised queen bed and the actual sleeping arrangement significantly compromised my experience. It's important for potential guests to be aware of this misleading description and the uncomfortable reality of sleeping on two single cots in a supposedly queen-sized space.

It is a really low price with a large balcony with chairs, a table and fan, plus a fan inside the room and on the balcony. There is a comfoy chair for sitting inside the room. A wardrobe with hangers is in the room.

AC rooms are also available.

There is a fridge , I brought my own travel kettle, which is useful.

The water is hot. Power sockets 3 Bedside lamps and all lights and fan switches by the bed.

The mattress is very comfortable. Towel and over sheets are provided in a cotton fabric.

Mosquito net is on the window, and the security grills are solid.

The Internet is very strong. Digital nomads needing to work will be able to do so.

Drinking water is provided.

There is a lovely garden. The beach is 100 metres away. Very near temples and lighthouse a small walk.

Conveniently next to supermarkets, small cafes and ATM's are just a small walk.

There are a lot of walk ways around they are easy enough to walk, it is necessary due to the beautiful Kerela terrain. Use a torch.

The hotel is located very close to the ocean, accessable by elevated sidewalks, where you must drag your luggage from the street for about 100M as no cars/bikes can go on these sidewalks.. The room was large with a nice balcony to relax outside. the bathroom was large & comfortable From the room I could see the other hotels, not much of a view, but it is a short min walk to the water & many restaurants, shops, etc The hotel upkeep is average with the room being dirtier than most, but not poor enough to complain. The mattress was rather comfortable.
