Park Residency Palayam — Hotel in Kerala

Pros:||1. Location near railway station||||Cons:||1. Park Residency photos mentioned are incorrect, there are 2 Park Residency hotels (1 in city and 1 near airport). The photos mentioned for both are the same but both the hotels are different. The one in the city is really small and cramped up.||2. Bar is located in front of hotel inside the same compound, not safe for families as drunk people keep wandering around at night in front of reception door||3. Complimentary breakfast menu is same every day and waiters end up getting the wrong order, I ordered for black tea and received black coffee||4. Room service is pathetic, they don't replace complimentary water bottles or fresh towels during room cleaning and whenever I ordered for water bottle or fresh towels, I had to keep reminding them 2-3 times before they finally gave it. ||5. Anyone from the staff enters the room when you are not there and without your permission, even when you don't give your key for room cleaning. Totally unsafe.||6. Never order food from restaurant menu. We ordered 4 chapatis and they were uncooked, so we replaced it with 2 parothas. Finally they charged us with the bill of 4 chapatis incorrectly. When we asked them to change the bill, they said the rate of both is same, so it can be adjusted automatically, whereas there was a difference of amount in it. After some time, they said the menu has changed and they have given us old menu. However, rates of all other items was same, they only changed the amount of chapati and parotha in order to adjust the bill. When we argued, they said they are charging us extra for 'room service' charges which doesn't make any sense. Finally they said, it's difficult to change the bill as it's already accounted for so they can't change the amount. I paid the exact amount that I owed and not the extra money. The hotel staff, instead of co-operating was lying to us since the beginning.||7. Finally, we asked them to keep the bill ready a night before the checkout next day, as our checkout time was early i.e. 5 AM, they said they will be ready with the bill. However, we tried calling the reception from 4:30 to 4:50 AM and nobody picked up and when we went to the reception, the manager was sleeping and took 30 minutes to prepare the bill because of which we were late for our flight. ||8. NOT SUITABLE FOR FAMILIES – EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL STAFF

We had an extremely disappointing experience at Park Residency, Palayam, and I strongly advise families to avoid this place. We booked our stay through Goibibo, expecting a comfortable stay, but our experience was far from it.

We arrived around midnight, exhausted and with our two-year-old child. Despite our late check-in, we were disturbed early in the morning by calls from reception, insisting that we vacate the room before 9 AM. My husband explained our situation and requested until 12:30 PM, as we were traveling with a young child. Initially, the staff seemed to agree, but upon checkout, they unexpectedly charged an additional Rs. 500. When I questioned the charge and mentioned that we hadn’t even been provided the deluxe room shown on Goibibo, one of the staff members responded rudely and unprofessionally.

To make matters worse, he used offensive language, questioning if we thought they were "beggars"—a response that was both shocking and inappropriate. In the end, I was forced to pay the extra fee just to leave, but the entire experience was distressing.

It is disappointing that platforms like Goibibo and MakeMyTrip recommend such establishments. This place lacks basic hospitality standards, and the staff's behavior towards guests is disrespectful. Families and travelers seeking decent service should look elsewhere.

Yes, I did throw the money, but only after trying to speak politely and being met with rudeness. To start with, the room we were given did not match the images on the Goibibo app, which created immediate disappointment. Instead of acknowledging the issue, your staff chose to argue with me rather than offer a solution or even an apology.
