Secret Paradise Beach Resort — Hotel in Kerala

The property is on southern cliff. The area around south cliff is very peaceful and isn't crowded at all.

SPBR has few number of cottages having multiple rooms. Property is well spread and has huge garden with many trees. More or less you get more homely vibes, which is always good for longer stay.

Rooms are decent to stay, but bathrooms needs little improvement. The room kits were something more than you can ask. Additional to regular items in the kits you get a pack of scented sticks, hair oil (multiple units), washing powder, soaps (multiple units) and fresh towels.

In common you get a high speed WiFi swing, kitchen, refrigerator, stove, utensils, glasses, books, card games, board games and much more. Kitchen for sure needs improvements in certain areas.

There is also a gem, named Mr. Arun, the manager/ care taker of the property! The services that we received were more than what we asked for. Apart from the regular hospitality, Arun helped us in exploring Varkala. He took us on his bike (even arranged a car of his friend for a drop) to show best food joints, massage center at no additional cost. He assisted us with each and every minute requirement. For instance, we had late night train and there wasn't any nearby transport available. Arun wasn't there on the property, but he still arranged a rickshaw for us by insisting an auto rickshaw person for late night pick-up. So anything you want in Varkala Arun is your Man.

Conclusion: You may like or be disappointed property as per your expectation. But service is something you will enjoy for sure.

PS: We booked Non-AC rooms in mid May. We were lucky enough to have rain on those days and survived. But from mid April to mid June, I don't think one can be comfortable with Non AC rooms, in...

Secret Paradise so far exceeded our expectations for our stay in Varkala at the end of a 2 month trip around South India. We loved it so much, we changed our travel plans and extended our stay! Arun and Bishu provide an unmatched level of service and generousity the like of which we have never seen before. Always checking if there is anything you need to improve your stay, there were always cups of chai and coffee offered, fresh fruit from the trees outside your windows, the best homemade Keralan breakfast (different specialities every day) and incredibly delicious meals that their cook produces each lunch and dinner as per your needs. We spent 4 wonderful evenings with new friends sharing stories, music, listening to Arun's beautiful singing (ask for a Bhajan performance) and eating together followed by the long, silent nights of peace and quiet waking only to the sounds of birds in the banana and coconut trees outside. I was very lucky that I visited Mr. Arun's Secret Paradise. I haven't felt so calm and happy in a long time. A quiet paradise immersed in the shade of banana trees. By the way, it is very relevant, because it is very hot in India now))) Affordable price tag, good WI-FI, delicious food. There is access to the kitchen if you want to cook something yourself.
