We were looking for an excellent hotel for almost 5 nights, and that is when Hotel Dreamland came in as a recommendation. We checked online reviews and decided to go ahead with the booking.
The property is indeed a dream one, as the name suggests. Inside, it is humongous and spread over a vast area. The main reception area is at the center so you would need to take your car there after entering from the main gate. The receptionist was friendly and professional and helped us quickly check in to the resort. A good thing to note is that right from the moment you enter the main gate, you will see the lavish property since one category of the cottage rooms is right at the entrance.
We had chosen the classic room category since they included a balcony in the room as well. The rooms were right across the main swimming pool, though the balcony faced the garden area. The rooms were spacious and comfortable enough for even 4 people to stay. The bed was king-sized, and the mattress was soft and comfortable to sleep on. The bathroom had 2 door system. Entering the first one was the wash basin and the wardrobe. Entering the second door took you into the washroom and the bathroom. The room had a mini fridge and a full supply of tea coffee maker kits.
The balcony was exceptionally spacious, with a table and 4 chairs to sit outside. There was also a rack for hanging clothes if the need be. However, there was a solid nuisance of monkeys during the evening and early morning. Thus, it was risky to sit outside during those times. The restaurant was tastefully decorated and spacious. The breakfast spread was decent, though a few items, like Idli, got repeated on some days. But the breakfast tasted great especially the flavored milkshakes, and the live dosa counters were fabulous.
The swimming pool area was terrific. It also had a mini kiddies pool, sufficient loungers to sit on, and fresh towels. The executive cottages were on one end of the resort, in the innermost area, and they overlooked the valley. There was also a big lawn which, though at the end, fell into the valley but was great to view. The only problem we sometimes faced was the staff needing to be more active, mainly during breakfast.
But the property is impressive, well maintained, luxurious, and even had an electric charging station for cars to be charged. Thus, it is one of Mahabaleshwar's best properties in the primary...

Read moreHi All, I'm writing this review for you to be aware of what you get at what price in this property. Good things first. 1. Awesome location 2. Well spread out property 3. Courteous staff 4. Nice amenities. Found some senior citizens as guests, made me feel comfortable as a likable place. Saw few luxury cars in the premises, reflecting this to be a quality place.
With the above list, one must wonder what is not good here. Let's come to those... No where I could find this is a Vegetarian Hotel. Apologies for my ignorance, but I couldn't find this anywhere specifically mentioned. Super Deluxe rooms are just as ordinary as it can be. Old construction and ill maintained. Pls ref. the photos of the door latches/AC (as example). Rooms doesn't have a mini fridge. The plug points can not fit even a big charger. Resturant - the best (pun intended) part of the hotel. Works on strict timings. Liked the discipline, only if it was exhibited across. Reaching late afternoon 3.00pm makes you end up starving. I have a 6 yrs kid with me. Strongly recommend to ensure that you have lunch on the way. - There are numerous good food joints on the way. Morning b'fast is like a war room. 150 guests struggling to get their food from the counter. Most wanted being the live Dosa counter. Lucky if you manage to get your's. -Lunch is strictly as per their menu. Thali it is. If you order À la carte, then management approval is required to serve you. Love the autocratic style in the hotel. Tables are laid out only if you are fit to eat in the restaurant. Paper napkin is treated like sacred towel. Your request for it, goes for management approval. Never had tasted Rs.550 worth of Dal-Khichdi before in my life. Even a papad accompaniment is not possible to get as per "policy". Luck to get lemon and onion, upon request. Food was tasty. Room service is subject to approval, as there's no menu in the room. The overall stay & experience was worthy of Rs2.5K/ night package, yet ended up spending 6.5K/night stay. Look forward to never step in here. Will personally not recommend anyone. There are much better places worth your...
