The staff lacked hospitality and we witnessed poor customer service. The rooms were not clean and there was a peculiar smell in the corridors too. We reached the hotel on 5th by 10 PM from a flight that was already an hour delayed. So we were very tired and starving. We were expecting a quick check in and wanted to head to the restaurant. The faculty at the reception had personal engagements to attend to and she was clearly not focused on us. She was attending personal phone calls and was talking to her colleagues when they passed by. It took us 25 minutes to get our key cards and those were just handed over to us in complete silence and no “here are your keycards” etc. Annoyed by the lack of service and hospitality, we headed to our rooms (203) Our room was at the end of a poor lit corridor on the second floor. The corridoor reeked of a bad smell like dirty laundry. Since there is no central AC, the whole building (except rooms, reception, restaurant, etc.) is humid and reeks. We went into our room and it lacked cleanliness of a 3 star hotel. Anyways, we kept our stuff there and headed to the front desk to ask for the restaurant. The receptionist said the restaurant is open till 11 and it was 10:40 at that moment. We rushed to the restaurant and the waiter informed us that the restaurant closes at 10:30, hence we can’t be served. So there goes our dinner plans but managed to order something on Zomato. On our way back to the room we told the receptionist that our room lacked toiletries and asked them to send some to our room. No one came to our room for half an hour and we went back to the front desk to ask for whereabouts of our requested things. They apologized and handed us the towels etc so that we can take it to our room by ourselves. Fast forward to this morning (6th Sept), the breakfast buffet was nice except the Jam which had clearly gone bad. 9/10 for the chai btw. The only good thing was the restaurant where I tried Paneer and Dal Khichdi. 9/10 for taste and presentation. In a crux, not a great place to stay. Might not visit again :)

Whatever and sharing now is for the hotel management to try and make an effort to improve their services. I check in in room number 604, on 15th of January 2025. As soon as I entered the room, it felt like a furnace. The AC wasn’t working. I informed the Reception immediately and ask them for assistance. The repair person checked the AC and remark that the AC is beyond repair. I called up the reception again for change of room. 45 minutes passed by, but no confirmation whatsoever was received from the reception counter. I was forced to call them up again, when they asked me Why I wanted my room to be changed. That means there is utter confusion in the Reception section. Finally, they change my room to 701. The food for dinner was good and tasty. Next day, I was out the whole day In my official capacity. I came Back around 8.30 pm And order for my dinner(Dal Makhani, 4 Tandoori roti and papad). The order was delivered in 20 to 30 minutes, but when I sat for dinner, I saw that they had given only Dal makhni and papad. No rotis were provided. That means there is confusion in the kitchen as well. No one cross check the order. The menu card and few other information pamphlets kept in the room where stain with leftover food particles. The dustbin was half bent and broken. I hope the management take proper notice. I don’t travel to Mumbai often, but I wish no traveller faces such things in future. I understand, it is a budget hotel, but you can at least provide a small toothpaste and a toothbrush. Thank you.

I had an extremely disappointing experience with this hotel. I booked a stay for 10,000 INR, and then paid an additional 7,000 INR to upgrade to a Ginger hotel, based on the reputation I’d heard about Ginger properties being good. However, my expectations were completely shattered. Upon arrival, I was asked to pay another 6,000 INR to extend my stay, which I reluctantly agreed to. But when I checked the property, it was nothing like what was advertised on MMT. The room was small and uncomfortable, and far from what was shown in the pictures. I immediately approached the manager and asked for a room change, but was told there were no other rooms available. I ended up spending almost 26,000 INR for two nights, and the hotel promised a 6,000 INR refund. But when I tried to follow up, the managers told me I had to collect the refund from MMT. I contacted MMT, and they refused to process the refund, stating that they don’t offer such a facility. I’ve been using MMT for over three years with a sense of trust, but after this experience, I am seriously reconsidering. The room I got was nothing like the one that was showcased online. The photos promised a spacious and luxurious room, but it was far from that. The whole experience has been frustrating and disappointing. I urge everyone to think twice and carefully verify before booking with MMT or any other platform. It’s a risk that I personally regret.

Travelled to Mumbai for business meeting and booked Ginger Mumbai via MakeMyTrip. First, I requested upon arrival and on the website if it was possible to check in to my room early. They denied saying that the rooms are all full. Upon checking MakeMyTrip again, I noticed there were rooms available and booked again to avail the same room for a few additional hours. They spent 45 minutes just to check me in which in turn delayed me to reach my meeting on time.

During my stay I felt that the rooms were arranged but not cleaned, let me explain how. Unfortunately I left my jeans and t-shirt in the hotel, I called them up to tell them about this for which they assured that the room was cleaned and no tshirt or jeans were found but they would check again. The staff didn't call me back or pick my call, so I had to travel 5kms just to have a conversation with them. I went back to the hotel and they assured me the same thing, the receptionist called the house keepers and they confirmed about it. I asked him if they cleaned the room and especially in the cupboard for which he said yes they do it after every guest leaves. I told him I am very optimistic that it is done cause lost items are returned and recorded for the owners to collect. The receptionist gave me his number and told me I would reach out to you tmrw once he checks in the cupboard again. The next morning I called the receptionist and he told me my jeans and t-shirt were found and told me that the items were just brought back to them. I find it hard to believe because it's the same person who told me, that specific floor's house keeper didn't find anything. I am guessing my jeans and t-shirt took a walk and landed in their hands the next day. Well that's still a mystery that can never be solved by me

Well honestly to me I doubt the hotel for cleanliness because if they did clean everything they should have found my stuff the day I left. Secondly I feel they are too overpriced for the kind of service and rooms they provide. Lastly I am highly disappointed by the kind of service they provide while...

I had a horrible and pathetic experience during my stay at Ginger and will never recommend anyone trying to book stay here with special requests /early check-in requirement etc.

Absolutely non customer centric front desk staff. Despite booking 5 days in advance and clearly mentioning the fact that we will be needing an early check-in as we were travelling internationally there was no regards to my special request of early check-in. With rooms available and no fault of mine I was stranded without any room as the front desk lady was behaving in totally inconsiderate manner.

To my booking with special requests where it was mentioned that they will respond to my request within 48 hours of my booking to let me know of the possibility of early check-in, I absolutely didn't get any communication, mail, call or intimation.

They deliberately make these reservations non cancellable which means no matter whether your early check-in/special request is possible or not, you are stuck and you cannot claim refund.

Now upon arrival ,since I didn't get any prior intimation that there will be challenge upon arrival regarding early check-in. I presumed that I will get a complimentary early check-in. I reached the hotel , the girl at the reception despite rooms being available told us that if we need room we have to pay full one day charge else forget getting rooms. Absolute arrogant ,pathetic lady doesn't know how to talk to customers.

In a customer centric hospitality industry where customer comes first, me and my spouse are stranded at 5am after flying for 8 hours internationally just to know that this is how Ginger is trying to fool customers and we are stuck for no fault of mine.

No intimation, no prior mail calls etc.. whereas I clearly asked during booking. Nevertheless it was horrific and I will never ever choose these pathetic chains again and will not recommend to anyone also. Luckily Makemytrip understood my situation and refunded 75% of entire room rent which I had to pay as we were tired.

NEVER EVER CHOOSE THESE CHAINS and...
