Hotel Imperial Palace — Hotel in Mumbai

I had booking for the family room. When i checked in with my family the girl at reception seems very nice and Polite. I asked to vie the room before check in. I have been shown the room which was good apart from the noisy room. Then the check-in process started. We have been asked the IDs which has been given to the hotel. They have photocopied all the IDs and wanted to keep in the record. Which might be for security reasons. Then they started to photocopy again my ID which was foreign Passport. I questioned and they responded they have to send the photocopy to CID for investigation. I was ok to do that but i asked the proof of postage to CID and copy of return stamped page from CID. where they refuse to do that. I felt bit weird. i have been asked to leave all the IDs at reception and they will send in the room later on where i refused to do that. The guy behind me sitting on the couch claiming as the owner of the hotel started interpreting the conversation by saying we are not gong to provide you the proofs either you wanted to stay or not? we refused to stay in the hotel and demanded for refund which have been paid. DO NOT BELIEVE THE IMAGES THAAT YOU SEE HERE. You can definitely opt for oyo/fabhotels or other similar hotels instead of this. I paid 3436Rs for 1 night stay and the condition of the room is beyond terrible. The bedsheets were immensely dirty and there was a layer of dust on chair, table, floor, phone, side table. It was a tiny room with almost no space to keep your luggage. I asked the staff to change my bedsheets and clean the room/floor but they were insistent that the room was cleaned just few minutes before! 1 of the staff member he was old in age), he was a bit helpful an provided me with clean/fresh sheets but the rest were terrible. Not even helpful to carry my luggage to room/out of the hotel. They just ogled at me/judged me for wearing a dress which was a decent knee length one. I had booked a regular room (which costs more than twin room) but despite that I was given the twin room saying that this is the last room available and there are no refund charges for the price difference.. I have. Booked this hotel for 2days and the hotel confirms this booking. When I reached their they said we will be giving me room for today night i.e. for one day and they have cancelled my second day booking. I ask why when i have booked for two days then why my second day booking is cancelled. And finding immediately another hotel will be difficult and expensive. They said as i have booked it on phone so they have cancelled. As someone has booked it online by paying. I told them when I have called for booking at that time you should have informed me that you need payment for confirmation. But that time you told me your booking is confirmed. Even than when room was booked by me then how you can override the booking. It means their is no system in this hotel which can track booking and stop duplicate bookings. This hote just book the room who ever pays more to them upfront payment. Even the hotel has confirmed the booking in advance their is no guarantee that you will get room.
