K Bhagat Tarachand, Andheri East — Restaurant in Mumbai

Lunch at the iconic K Bhagat Tarachand, an eatery that serves some wonderful thali since 1895 in Mumbai.  Their lunch service closes at 3.30 so I took an auto to reach the outlet closest to me in Andheri East, just outside the local train station and ordered myself a KBT Combo, a limited thali priced at 419 including taxes.  The thali had a paneer mixed curry, a mixed vegetable curry, a dal fry, with some jeera rice, with 2 pieces of their legendary desi ghee chapati, with a side of masala chaas / buttermilk, roasted papad and a farsan or starter of the day which was a dahi bhalla.  Initially for a limited quantity thali like this, I felt the price point to be very steep, but the quality of the food overlooked the quantity, needless to say the taste was exceptional.  The dahi bhalla, super soft, tender bhalla soaked and seasoned in sweet curd, is a fabulous start.  The paneer sabzi was nothing short of excellence in terms of spice and flavour and both the dal and the mixed veg sabzi had just the right heat to get through the desi ghee overloaded chapatis that were super soft and extremely wellmade.  The jeera rice was much needed to finish off the subzi and dal and the soft indulgent gulab jamoon was waiting to be savoured.  It was a delectable feast that I enjoyed thoroughly paired with some friendly service.  These people are specialists and the thali that I indulged in has taken 100+ years to perfect.  The masala chaas was a perfect accompaniment with the meal.  If you are looking for value you may not find this place suitable, but if you are looking for quality and exceptional taste, you will appreciate this thali that comes highly...

Lunch from K Bhagat Tarachand (Andheri East, Mumbai) . Whenever I feel like having a good North Indian Gravy I always prefer K Bhagat Tarachand which gets easily delivered through Zomato . Tried the following dishes: 1.Paneer Bhuna Masala : Absolutely Lipsmackin and delicious totally worth it. Very very tasty and not too spicy would totally recommend it 5/5 Paneer Chilly Dry: Wanted to have a starter and ordered this and boom it was a big mistake, the quantity is very less and not even half portion. The Ambience was very good and the restaurant was very well maintained and clean.

The we ordered thali and almost everything on the thali was very tasty. The panner Sabri was creamy and flavour full. The mix vegetable was also good.

The Dahi wada was worth every bite. The gulab Jamun could have done a better justice as it was more like a very basic one.

The Roti were the star and tasty, alto when they cool they taste little pasty but overall they were star on the plate and the hot ones were really good.
