Hotel Samrat is a Five Star Hotel which is a division of The Ashok Group of Hotels. The Ashok Group is a chain of hotels owned and operated as Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) of the India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) in India. Hotel Samrat is located within a 2 kms radius of Rashtrapati Bhavan (Presidential palace), 15 kms from International Airport, 10 kms from Domestic Airport, 9 kms from New Delhi Railway Station, 6 kms from Connaught Place (Commercial shopping district), 6 kms from Pragati Maidan (Venue of trade exhibitions and fairs). The Hotel building is a an elegant stone and marble structure. There is a big parking area, just after the entrance. The Entry Gates give way to a grand and beautiful Gallery. There is reception on the left and a fish aquarium on its side. Sitting area is there on the left and on the right is Tea Lounge. The decor of the Gallery and ground floor is elegant and beautiful. One of the best attractions was the marble cut Big Vases, which looked so royal and fabulous. The main attraction was the royal and historic look and some antiques placed there. We had visited DRAT which is on the 3rd Floor of the Hotel. The Canteen of the Tea Lounge does not offer much on the menu and most of the items were not even available. They take almost half an hour to serve your orders, which is really disappointing. Veg Patties were tasty but were not heated. The Cottage Cheese and pepper sandwich tasted well. The staff was courteous and polite.

Hotel is located in prime location other than that nothing much hype to say about this hotel. Once upon a time it took name of 5 start hotel and that got sticked to it permanently. If any evaluation criteria comes then this will get 2* rating. Rooms are clean but not maintained well. Check my photos, you can see poor quality door, hot tub with peel off, taps rotten, vobbling door handles, no foot mats nothing, flush press should be a real hard ufff.. *Bed and linen was in good condition. *Poor furniture. *TV n set top box good. *Complimentary water, toiletries available. *No fridge. *Towels good but no hand napkins. *Staffs are super lazy..don't expect quick resolution. *Reception desk most laziest ever seen. *Nice spread of complimentary breakfast. *No restaurant, only room service. So we opted to go out and ate in Sagar Ratna (Ashoka Hotel) In short for the amount you pay definitely it's not all worth. There are many others hotels in the same budget where you get so many good things. They behave like Government run entity. Just they don't care a damn. Safety: IF HOTEL IS UNDER FIRE THEN I DIDNT SEE ANY LAYOUT PLAN OR GUIDE TO SAFE EXIT. ONCE I USED THE STAIRS TO GET DOWN BUT IT TOOK SOMEWHERE ELSE WHERE NOT EVEN ONE SINGLE HUMAN BEING CAME FOR 2-3 MINS & I CAME BACK IN THE SAME ROUTE N TOOK LIFT. VERY MUCH DEVIATION I CAN SAY.

We booked this club to celebrate New Year's eve along with family. They charged us 6k per couple and gave worst experience of my life. I've been to so many clubs but management here is absolutely horrible as their sole purpose was to charge people be selling online tickets and not let them in since it supersede the holding capacity of the club. They made us stand in the queue for 1hr from 10pm to 11pm which is the prime time to celebrate before the countdown so that they could buy time and exploit people due to their mismanagement. Before letting people in they were doing typical babugiri of manual paper checking of all bookings. Also we did not get to drink a single glass of any drink nor we could have food since food was laid out worst than Langar where people were eating like street beggars, extreme stampede and no male female courtesy. They've created a hype and are encashing on people's trust. Never visit this worst place ever again. Unfortunately in Indian jurisdiction we can't even get any action initiated against these fraudsters who are minting money on public trust.

As I walked through the grand lobby of the hotel, a quiet sense of luxury followed me. The ambient lighting, the subtle fragrance in the air, and the soft murmur of a few early diners created a mood that gently pulled me into a world where time seemed to slow down. The restaurant entrance wasn’t flashy—it was tasteful. A smiling host greeted me with a warm “Good evening, welcome in”—a phrase so simple, yet delivered with such grace that it felt deeply genuine.

First Glance: Setting the Tone

As I was escorted to my table, I took in the space. High ceilings, elegant furnishings, thoughtfully placed plants, and warm hues. The lighting was designed for the eyes—neither too dim to read the menu, nor too bright to ruin the mood. The background score was so seamlessly blended with the atmosphere that I didn’t consciously notice it until I realized how calm I felt. I was instantly comfortable, almost like being welcomed into someone’s elegant home rather than a public space.

A Seat at the Table: Thoughtful Details

The table was already set, but what struck me was the attention to the small things: the weight of the cutlery, the crispness of the napkin, the subtle glow of a candle, and the pristine polish of the glassware. Each element signaled a place where details matter. Water was served instantly—room temperature or chilled? Still or sparkling? Even that was asked with poise.

The Menu: Simplicity Meets Sophistication

The menu wasn’t trying to impress with overcomplication. It was balanced. Indian classics stood beside international favorites, with seasonal specials that reflected both creativity and restraint. What made it even more delightful was the staff’s familiarity with the offerings—not just reading names off a list, but truly understanding the ingredients, the preparation, and the story behind the chef’s choices.

The Meal: A Journey in Flavors and Emotion

Starters

I began with a delicate appetizer that arrived looking like art on a plate. Each bite had contrasting textures—crispy meets creamy, tangy meets umami. It wasn’t just food. It was an introduction.

Main Course

The entrée was rich and soulful. Cooked with precision, plated with elegance, and timed to perfection—not too fast to rush, not too slow to wonder. Each component had a role. Nothing was filler. And the temperature? Absolutely perfect.

Dessert

Dessert was more than a sweet ending. It was a signature—something the restaurant clearly prided itself on. A delicate balance of indulgence and restraint, presented with flair but no unnecessary gimmick.

The Service: Present, But Never Pushy

Throughout the meal, the service remained consistently exceptional. Plates were cleared silently, courses arrived without delay, and check-ins happened at just the right intervals. No over-friendly chatter, no mechanical routine—just human, graceful service. When I asked a question about a certain spice, the staff member didn’t hesitate—he told me where it was sourced, how it was used traditionally, and even shared a personal anecdote. That moment stayed with me.

The Vibe: More Than Just Luxury

It wasn’t just about aesthetics or expensive ingredients. It was about how the place made me feel. It gave me space. It respected my time. It cared that I was there. That’s a rare thing in today’s fast-moving dining world.

Cleanliness & Safety:

Every visible and invisible touchpoint felt hygienic. From sanitized cutlery to spotless restrooms, everything inspired confidence. Even behind-the-scenes hygiene seemed strong—you can just tell.

Price vs. Experience:

While this isn’t a place for a cheap bite, it’s absolutely worth every rupee. The experience, the elegance, the depth of detail—none of it feels transactional. It’s emotional. It stays with you. It’s an investment in memory.

Tucked away in the diplomatic enclave of Chanakyapuri, the Samrat Hotel offers a comfortable and functional stay for travelers visiting the heart of New Delhi. Its strategic location and straightforward amenities make it a practical choice for both business and leisure travelers.

The hotel's exterior may not be the most modern, but it exudes a certain charm that reflects the historical significance of the area. The lobby is spacious and unpretentious, with courteous staff available to assist guests promptly. During my stay, I found the check-in process to be efficient, ensuring a smooth start to my visit.

The rooms at Samrat Hotel are clean, adequately furnished, and well-maintained. While they don't boast extravagant features, they provide a comfortable retreat after a day of exploring the city. The in-room amenities cover the basics, ensuring a convenient stay without unnecessary frills.

Dining options within the hotel are decent, offering a mix of local and international cuisines. The breakfast spread, in particular, provides a satisfactory start to the day. However, the dining experience doesn't necessarily stand out, and those seeking gourmet delights might want to explore other options in the vicinity.

For fitness enthusiasts, the hotel offers a functional gym with essential equipment. While not the most extensive fitness facility, it serves its purpose for a quick workout. The absence of a spa might be a downside for those seeking relaxation beyond the room.

One of the highlights of the Samrat Hotel is its proximity to various landmarks and attractions. The hotel's location in Chanakyapuri ensures easy access to government offices, embassies, and cultural sites. This makes it a convenient choice for business travelers with appointments in the area.

While my overall experience at Samrat Hotel was positive, there were a few minor drawbacks worth noting. The Wi-Fi connectivity could be more consistent, which might be a concern for business travelers needing a stable internet connection. Additionally, the decor and furnishings in some areas of the hotel could benefit from a refresh to align with modern design trends.

In conclusion, the Samrat Hotel offers a practical and straightforward stay in a central part of New Delhi. Its location and functional amenities cater well to travelers with busy schedules or those exploring the city's attractions. While it might not be the epitome of luxury, its reasonable pricing and convenient setting make it a sensible choice for a...

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Samrat Hotel near the airport, and I must say it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The location is incredibly convenient for travelers, as it's just a stone's throw away from the airport.

Upon arriving, I was immediately impressed by the luxurious rooms that the hotel offers. The attention to detail in the room decor and amenities truly makes you feel pampered. The comfort and cleanliness exceeded my expectations.

One of the highlights of my stay was the ample parking space available at the hotel. It's always a relief to find secure and convenient parking, especially when traveling with a vehicle.

The reception staff were friendly and welcoming, making the check-in process smooth and hassle-free. They were always ready to assist with any inquiries or requests, which added to the overall positive impression of the hotel.

Now, let's talk about the dining experience. The breakfast, lunch, and dinner options at the hotel's restaurant were nothing short of excellent. The variety and quality of dishes offered were impressive, catering to a range of tastes. It's clear that the culinary team takes pride in their work, and it shows in every bite.

I also appreciated the prompt and efficient room service. Whether it was housekeeping or any additional requests, the staff were always courteous and responsive.

In summary, my stay at the Samrat Hotel was truly exceptional. The combination of its convenient location near the airport, luxurious rooms, ample parking, excellent dining options, and top-notch service make it a standout choice for travelers. I wholeheartedly recommend the Samrat Hotel to anyone seeking a comfortable and memorable stay.
