Restaurant – Dine-in Experience on 10/06/205 at 9:00 PM

I recently dined at Diggin Restaurant and while the ambiance was initially promising, the overall experience turned out to be highly disappointing due to multiple issues with hygiene, service quality, and staff professionalism. Please find my detailed feedback below:

🌟 Positive: • The receptionist was courteous and managed our table allocation well despite a busy period.

⸻

❌ Areas of Major Concern:

Table & Cutlery Hygiene • The table we were allocated was unclean and not sanitized before seating. • The cutlery was stained and looked reused without proper washing. • The cutlery was handled improperly, bunched together in the server’s hands, resembling street-style service rather than that of a premium dine-in restaurant. • Oregano and chili flakes containers were dirty and did not look regularly cleaned.

Unprofessional Server Behaviour • The server attending us appeared untidy and unhygienic. • She had tobacco in her mouth, which is completely unacceptable and unprofessional in a food service environment. • Lack of menu knowledge – She couldn’t make any recommendations and had zero understanding of the dishes.

Food Service Experience • We ordered: • Grilled Rosemary Chicken • Burrata and Mushroom Cheese Pizza • Once the food was served, it was simply placed on the table with no explanation, garnishing, or proper plating service. It felt like a self-service experience despite being a dine-in restaurant.

Improper Handling of Beverage Order • We ordered a cold coffee (₹245) in a takeaway cup. The quality was poor – watery milk with ice, barely any coffee flavor. • The straw didn’t fit the takeaway lid, and the server forcefully pushed the straw in using her fingers, which my wife found highly unhygienic.

Inappropriate Tableware • For the main course, we were given small B&B plates, which made it very difficult to enjoy the meal properly. • No proper dinner plates were provided, which shows a clear lack of attention to detail or perhaps a shortage of clean dishes.

Overpriced with Poor Value • The pricing of both food and drinks is quite high for the area, yet the quality of service and hygiene is substandard. • This makes the overall value-for-money extremely poor.

⸻

⚠️ Suggestions for Improvement: • Immediate training for the serving staff on hygiene, food knowledge, and service etiquette. • Enforce personal hygiene standards (no chewing tobacco, clean uniforms, grooming). • Proper sanitization of tables, cutlery, and condiment containers before seating the next guest. • Improve tableware quality and availability for different types of meals. • Ensure that beverages are served hygienically, especially when using takeaway cups and accessories.

⸻

Final Thoughts:

Despite a decent ambiance, the overall experience at diggins was unsatisfactory and unhygienic. I urge the management to seriously consider these issues if they wish to provide a truly premium dining experience.

I hope this feedback helps in raising the standard of service and food hygiene for...

I am writing to express my profound disappointment and dissatisfaction with the shocking treatment my colleagues and I received at Diggin Cafe on a recent Saturday afternoon. Our visit, intended for a productive work discussion over lunch, turned into a distressing and unpleasant experience due to the appalling behaviour of one of the staff members named Kamal/Kamar.

We arrived at Diggin Cafe in the early afternoon and settled in for a meal and work discussion. After spending over two hours at the restaurant, Kamal approached us with a noticeable lack of courtesy and professionalism. Despite the fact that the restaurant was not overly busy and we were paying customers engaged in a quiet, work-related conversation, Kamal/Kamar rudely insisted that we needed to move from our seats.

What made the situation even more intolerable was Kamal's suggestion that we relocate to an outdoor seating area in 40 degrees Celsius heat at 1:30 in the afternoon. This request was not only unreasonable but also insensitive to the extreme weather conditions. When we politely declined, expressing our discomfort with such an arrangement, Kamal's/Kamar's response was shockingly rude. He bluntly told us to leave the restaurant.

This kind of treatment is completely unacceptable for any establishment that claims to value customer service. Being forced out in such a manner, especially under such extreme weather conditions, was both humiliating and disrespectful. It is beyond comprehension how a restaurant could treat its patrons with such disregard, particularly when they have chosen to spend their time and money there.

The behaviour exhibited by Kamal/Kamar is a stark indicator of a severe lack of training in basic customer service and hospitality. Diggin needs to seriously reconsider how it treats its customers if it wishes to maintain any semblance of a good reputation. I strongly urge the management to address this issue with the utmost seriousness and take corrective measures to ensure that no other patrons are subjected to such a degrading experience.

I am thoroughly disappointed and will not be returning to Diggin. I advise anyone looking for a respectful and pleasant dining experience to seek alternatives where their presence and business will be appreciated. The complete lack of professionalism and basic human decency we experienced at Diggin is something I hope no one else...

Ambiance: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ The ambiance at Diggin Cafe was truly brilliant. As soon as I stepped inside, I was enchanted by the charming decor, warm lighting, and cozy seating arrangements. The rustic yet contemporary feel of the place made it an inviting spot to spend time with friends or simply enjoy a peaceful meal alone.

Food: ⭐⭐ While the ambiance was delightful, I must admit that the food at Diggin Cafe did not quite live up to my expectations. The standout dish for me was the Artichoke Mushroom Pizza, which was absolutely delicious. The unique combination of flavors and the perfectly baked crust made it a delightful treat.

However, the same cannot be said for the Pesto Pizza and Veggie Pizza that I tried. Both lacked the wow factor and were somewhat disappointing. The pesto sauce seemed a bit bland, and the veggie toppings did not have the freshness I was hoping for.

The pasta I ordered was just okay. It lacked the depth of flavor and tended to be a bit overcooked. It wasn't bad, but it didn't leave a lasting impression either.

Desserts: On a positive note, the dessert selection at Diggin Cafe was quite enjoyable. The Blueberry Cheesecake was a delightful surprise, with its rich and creamy texture complemented by the burst of tangy blueberries. It's a must-try for anyone with a sweet tooth.

The Tiramisu was good, though not exceptional. It had the classic flavors of coffee and mascarpone, but it lacked a bit of the depth and complexity that I look for in a truly outstanding Tiramisu.

Service: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ The service at Diggin Cafe was commendable. The staff was attentive, polite, and prompt in taking orders and serving the food. They were also helpful in explaining the menu and making suggestions based on preferences.

Overall Rating: ⭐⭐⭐ Taking everything into consideration, I would rate Diggin Cafe with three out of five stars. The brilliant ambiance made the dining experience pleasant, but the food quality, aside from the Artichoke Mushroom Pizza and the Blueberry Cheesecake, was not up to the mark. With some improvements in the taste and consistency of their dishes, Diggin Cafe could easily elevate its rating. Nevertheless, if you're looking for a cozy place to relax and enjoy good pizza and dessert, the Artichoke Mushroom Pizza and the Blueberry Cheesecake are definitely worth a try. The Tiramisu, while enjoyable, didn't quite match the brilliance of the...

Good location, not so good food. Went there with a few friends who seem to really like the place. We tried a bunch of things and liked only a few. Food: - Grilled prawns - really small prawns, not juicy. Got 10 of those on two skewers. - Prawn calamari - more potato fries than prawns or calamari. Big disappointment. - Chicken bruschetta - this was decent. But not something I’d order again. - Chicken and jalapeño pizza - go to dominos instead. It tasted almost like it. I expected a thin crust, classic Italian light pizza. Got the opposite. - Chicken rosemary - I actually liked the sauce in this one. Chicken was soft. It was served with mashed potatoes. Won’t order this again though. In all the dishes, I liked the lettuce salad the most. It had a good dressing. Drinks: We had fresh lime soda, orange mock-tail and a berry mock-tail. I would anyway go for fresh lime all over again. Everything else had a lot of sugar syrup. Ambience: the location is great - it is in an Air Force complex. There are a lot of shops around diggin, but we arrived late and most of those had closed. The ambience of diggin is nice and green but it was weird to see artificial plants everywhere. It kind of defeated the purpose of the green ambience. Other: we got a table outside in one of the corners, which had a cooler alongside. But there were insane number of mosquitos all around us. We asked for a mosquito bat, they didn’t have one but they were kind enough to give us a Hit spray. That’s how we could sit and eat food. If that wasn’t available, all of us would have come out with a dengue! Staff - decent. We didn’t have any issues.
