This hotel serves just the purpose for which one visits Rameswaram: Pilgrimage. It has decent clean rooms (albeit slightly smaller than I expected) with attached bath, storage space, charging points, good complimentary wifi speed, etc. Staff were also helpful and courteous. Special mention for Mr Kalicharan, who wonât only made my booking-to-checkout experience but also helped me connect with a travel agent too, as I had a long road trip followed by my visit to Rameswaram.
Hotel was newly opened, only about 6 months before we visited in 2nd week of Augustâ25. The hotel is just about 5-7 minutes walk to the East gate of Ramnathaswamy temple and about 3-4 minutes from the famous âAgni Theerthamâ beach. Only problem is: the hotel doesnât have its own restaurant and you may not be able to find decent options nearby. One has to walk towards the temple for a meal. Personal suggestion is Sardarjiâs dhaba on the way to temple from this hotel, which serves some really nice North Indian food, if one ever wants to take a break from the omnipresent South Indian cuisines. One can find quite a few eateries near South/West gate of the temple.
There is another newly opened (3 months by Augâ25) hotel named Sriashvik, which is almost next door to Sri Kanthan Residency, which was also quite decent. On checking the price, I found it a tad expensive at Rs 6k per night.
Hence, to summarise, this hotel was a real value for money accommodation, which was clean, close to the temple, had courteous staffs; with few drawbacks like, no in-hotel dining facilities, slightly smaller rooms, and lesser access to eateries. Hence,...

Read moreI recently stayed at HOTEL SRI KANTHAN RESIDENCY, Rameshwaram for a night, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience. This is a new property, and everything about the stay was simply amazing. Right from the Manager Mr. Kalicharan and the front office staff Mr. Bharath to housekeeping everyone was extremely polite, courteous, and helpful. A special mention to Mr. Kalicharan for ensuring everything was seamless and making our stay comfortable. Although the room is compact kept very neat & clean. Another big plus is the location âthe hotel is just 200 mtrs from the sea shore, Agasthiar Theertham & around 800 meters from the temple, making it super convenient for darshan. Overall, a very comfortable and pleasant stay. A huge thanks to the entire team for making our visit memorable. Highly...
