26-27 May, 2016.|I was in Pune on an official visit again, and this time, my hosts|put me up at the Centurion Inn, Model Colony. This is a|delightful small hotel located well away from the hustle and|bustle of the city and its main road traffic. It is located in a|small corner of Model colony, and is accessible by a small road|(which has a sign directing one to the hotel). From the outside,|this looks like a stylish small residential building, had it not|been for the signage. The entrance has a metal entrance with bars|on top, lining the entrance pathway to the small reception area.|Beside the signage on one large wall outside, there is a lovely|Gulmohar tree, which was in full bloom the time I was there.|the path to the reception has a nice raised platform with some|beautiful flowers on top, welcoming visitors. There is a large|nice waiting area with some artwork on the walls, and a cooler.|My work was at the|Savitribai Phule University of Pune, so being on the Ganeshkhind|road, it was a big bonus for me. Another USP of the place is its|proximity to the Central Mall, and numerous food joints all|around the place, all within walking distance of the hotel.|The hotel is small, but neat and clean. I requested for two WiFi|accounts, one for the laptop, and another for the mobile phone.|This was met with a warm welcome. I was assigned room 102, which|is located on the ground floor at a slightly higher level from|the reception part. The room entry is through a card. The room is|small, but its size was quite enough for one person, or a small family.|There is a large and soft double bed, with two huge pillows. The|room has a small desk and study area with a lamp, and ample|number of power ports. There is a wall-mounted flat-screen LCD|TV, a water bottle and flask, and two glasses. There is a large|window on almost a whole side of the room, with two levels of|curtains. This opens towards the back side of the pure vegetarian|restaurant named `Aphrodite'. On the left of the entrance is a|rack for keeping luggage, and shoes, underneath. The wall is|recessed to have a sliding-door almirah, with storage space above|and below the structure as well. to the side, and just before the|bathroom is a dressing area with a wall-mounted mirror. The|bathroom is neat and clean, and simple, yet functional. Towels|and accessories were right...
Read moreI stayed here for 2 weeks, and it was one of my worst experiences in any hotel in Pune. I will list down negatives first: The first room they gave me had AC that had no airflow control as the flap was absent. When I asked for a change, they showed me 3 more rooms and all had similar issues (either AC flap absent, or AC remote not working, or water coming out of AC). Finally, my 5th room had a functioning AC, so I accepted and settled. This was probably one of their better rooms and even this room had paints peeling off and was damp. In the room, the coaster for keeping glass (for drinking water) was super dirty and the towels had some kind of stain for 4 days (they change towels everyday along with toiletries). Now coming to few other things, for internet, they issue user ID and password for each device, and it needs to be re-issued every day. This system is irritating to say the least when you are staying for 13 nights and on top of that you need to ask for it (otherwise they won't send them) every day. Same thing with their access card for room, you need to activate the card every day and few days activation failed, and I had go up and down multiple times to fix it. Their elevator doesn't work on 2nd floor, but I was staying in 3rd floor, so it didn't affect me. I had taken complimentary breakfast with my room. In breakfast, apparently, they serve juice along with other foods. I got juice probably 4 or 5 days, rest of the time it was always 'not available' or 'out of stock'. Minor compared to above points, but they don't allow delivery people to come to room nor they deliver themselves to room. So, you need to come downstairs to get the food yourself. Now coming to few positives: The people who were involved in day-to-day service, were very helpful. They were more knowledgeable than people in reception in general. (Reason why I gave 2 stars) Rooms was clean otherwise. The location was very convenient for my...
Read moreHi all, Just now I checked out from this hotel. I would say...this is one of the worst experience that I had in this hotel. The staff specially manager of this hotel is one of the worst person that I have seen in hospitality industry. They don't have basic common sense how to talk with customer. Even before booking this hotel I have confirmed multiple times with them about my surgery and guest visit then also they made a lot of troubles in my stay. They do charge alot for not giving any good service to the customer. If you people will think about this hotel then thik millions of time before doing the confirmation. I did mistake by staying here and faced alot. I had gone through major surgery and also have informed them earlier. But they don't care about there customer. Even there other staff and manager are worst people in hospitality industry. If in case you guys will choose to stay in this hotel. Then while doing check out check your bills thrice. Because they will add other room Bills in your bill and will ask you to pay. Don't pay it blindly. They even don't know basic mathes and the meaning of hospitality. All staff members are worst. Only food and restaurant guy I found decent here in this hotel. Once u guys will go in the hotel..keep your energy to make the call again and again to the front desk to ask for everything. They don't want customer they only want to be there without moving themselves for anything.. Even u guys can get hot water in bucket and they will boil the water on gas or induction and give it in a bucket in your room... seriously disgusting management and disgusting manager... I know only one word for this hotel.... WORST WORST WORST WORST WORST WORST WORST............ so please don't waste your money for this WORST hotel and WORST...
