AVOID THIS HOTEL... first of all they don't answer any calls, if you are lucky enough then your call might be answered and you will hear "mail your queries"; then your mail will be answered at least after 2 days then you mail which rooms you want.. then they will give you a deadline of half hour to pay for entire stay.. you pay and wait for another 2-3 days for mail confirmation (they don't answer calls) then you visit with a very happy vacation mood which is going to be ruined once to get inside the hotel but you don't have any option as you had already paid for the entire stay.. we had booked 2 backside rooms ac (819 & 820) at ₹2688/- per room per night.. once we entered we found dirty bedsheet with hairs all around, broken window ac (no temperature control) we rang the calling bell 10-12 times but no one came.. I went all the way down to reception (they don't have intercoms) then they said room service is closed now (10pm to 6am and 2pm to 4:30pm) (you won't even get water at 10:05pm or 2:05pm or 4:25pm) TV is not working - again room service is closed nobody bother to atleast answer us.. next morning after 8am rang the bell (for tea) for 20 times no one came.. again went to the reception he called on someone's mobile then one boy came with very angry face and showed very rude behaviour ordered for tea and said TV not working.. he said "we will see" another boy brought our tea at 9am again told for TV he said "you are here to watch TV or visit temple, anyway we'll see" then when we are ready to go out at 10am one guy came and played sometime with the TV and said "it's not working, what can we do" he took the TV out and we also left for the temple we came back at 1:50pm and rang the bell for lunch but no one came we asked one hotel guy walking outside our room that why no one is coming he said "look at the time it's 2pm no one will come.. restaurant will also close at 2:30pm" we manage our lunch from outside on our own..room service was like this for our entire stay.. now come to bathroom.. yack; public toilet is more clean than this.. water from tap is more salty than sea water, you sit in loo and water drops on you from roof.. our entire stay was horrible.. at the time of check out we went to billing counter he said "I am doing something come after 10-15mins" overall the room was not more than of ₹500/- there is no cleaning, no hygiene, no ethics, no etiquettes, forget about hospitality they don't have humanity.. it's better to pay for two days in nearby hotels instead of this PATHETIC HOTEL. The only good thing about this hotel is the location and 24...
Read moreFirstly the location of the hotel on Google maps is wrongly marked, it's located right beside Hotel Sonali. Pros: Location of the hotel is in a prime location in Puri. Located right near Sargadwar, the prime locations of Puri are easily accessible, even by walking if the weather is good. The front facing rooms (the sea facing ones, especially in the first and second floor) have excellent views of the beach and the sea. There is a restaurant called 'Song of Bengal' right below which serves good food. Had only breakfast there, which was great but maybe the price was a little too high. The room service and housekeeping are great. Staffs are helpful, well-mannered. Our AC stopped working in between, they quickly provided us with another room. They clean the room as many times you want them to. (Not to say that there's no fault in this hotel, but they try to fix them). You'll get 2 complimentary mineral water bottles, and tea bags, milk powder and sugar for making tea in the heater they provide. There's also a mini-fridge in the room. They arrange for Pandas for temple visit and vehicles for sightseeing at standard rates. (But that's what most hotels in Puri do). They have a great terrace with excellent views of the beach and the sea. Cons: Not a great value for money. There are better hotels with swimming pool and better amenities available at this rate. Location might not be that great for you if you're searching for a very peaceful stay, away from the hustle and bustle. In that case you should better take the hotels near golden beach or light house. Some rooms are great, but all rooms aren't. Especially the back facing ones are dark and not that great. If you're staying in this hotel make sure to stay in the beach facing rooms in the first or second floor. Water in the taps are salty sometimes. Also if you're staying in a beach facing room, the salty humid air will get in when you open the balcony door and make the...
Read moreThe hotel is pathetic. The front office staff, certain housekeeping staff, certain f&b staff were outright bad characters. The rooms were smelly, matchbox sized, dirty, stained and the linen had hair and stain marks. The front office staff were utterly cold, never smiling, condescending in their replies and had zero empathy. It felt like they didn't give a shit about their guests as their jobs were somehow secure. Arun particularly from Front Office was the worst of the lot. We had asked for a room upgrade and wanted to pay extra for that but all he said was there weren't any rooms empty whereas 3 families booked rooms infront of us at the reception during our stay and magically got rooms. The hotel was at partial occupancy really. The hotel was very unkept, dirty, had water seeping from everywhere and looked as if they didn't bother cleaning it. On the other hand Joga and Ajay from F&B were real heroes. Joga always helped me with my icepack as I am recovering from a surgery and needed my icepack twice everyday. He was always smiling. Ajay from the restaurant was very attentive to details and served us very well everytime we dined at the restaurant. He attended to my grandmother like his own. The headchef was a very polite and a soft spoken person and the food was delicious, specially their north Indian cuisine. He even made homestyle fish curry for my 86 year old grandma. We had asked for check-out time extension for 1 room on the last day as my mother got viral fever and were ready to pay some amount for that, they outright asked us to pay an entire day's rent and later told us to leave at 12 in the afternoon so that they wouldn't charge. Inhumane treatment by the front office staff. The food, Ajay and Joga made up for the shambolic excuse of a hotel Pulin Puri is. We were made to feel that because we had booked rooms through MMT, the hotel didn't want to...
