We are writing this review based on our experience. This review we are writing not to demean or just out of something, but this property has every potential to be great, which we had booked for a day stay.
The entrance and garden look quite aesthetic, and the place itself looks beautiful from outside. From outside it looks like a cozy small dreamy mountain home.
But here are the shortcomings and the issues which we have noticed.
We booked this using MakeMyTrip. While booking, parking was not mentioned so we called him to confirm. He told us that the hotel doesn't have any dedicated parking, however, he suggested two parking spots which he told us would cost 100 Rs. But on reaching, traffic police didn't allow us to go to the first parking place which was government-owned as he claimed, for which it would have cost 100 Rs. As traffic didn't allow, we went to the 2nd parking spot and found out that it's privately owned and it charges 40 Rs / 3 hours. So we asked him that it’s not 100 Rs but more than that, then he told us that’s what you have to pay, he can’t do anything, you can cancel if you want.
Let’s come to the property. As claimed in the booking we booked for 4 members, so we got four single beds in one room allotted, but when we reached it was 2 rooms with 2 sharing beds. That was not a problem. The rooms are very small due to old construction. The building seems to be built in old design. Despite that, we got an independent bathroom and 1 toilet, which were of very poor quality. We considered that it’s an old property but he could have renovated it. Jet spray doesn't have pressure, the sheet is placed above ground.
He explicitly didn't provide toiletries items but had placed handwash and used soap in a common basin. In the bathroom there was an old steel bucket with barely managed tap and cleaning.
Rooms were not cleaned properly; dust was there inside the bed. With one double bed in the room you will be left with bare minimum space. Bedsheets were okay-okay. If you are a person who would like to have privacy, not recommended at all as it doesn’t have anything.
Closing and opening of the door was difficult and the fan was very old, kept on sounding with no regulator to control it. It was a very slow-moving fan. In one room the table was broken, there was one television which is of the 90s and of no use. Although a power board was there at the bed, which was good. Painting on the wall is of lime so it will get to shirts easily.
Coming to the exterior part, the broken plant pots were scattered. The garden was so beautiful yet poorly maintained, not properly cut and trimmed at all.
Improvement scope:
Provide clear instructions on the booking website so that a person doesn't have any false expectations or at least knows what they are going to get.
Cleaning of the room, bathroom interior and exterior.
Electrical equipment needs to be changed. Need to remove extra things like table, television considering space. Proper wall painting, bedsheet and at least provide basic toiletries.
Take care of exterior things like removing plant hedges, removing all scattered rocks and pots. At least place 2 small sitting tables in the garden so that people can...
Read moreIf I could I wouldn’t even give one star! We booked a double room via agoda and it was all confirmed. Also we texted the host accordingly that we will arrive late due to the train arrival time.
At first we couldn’t even find the guesthouse because there is no sign or name at all. After some calls we finally run into him on the street. And then he revealed that there is NO room for us because he gave it away to some airbnb bookings...for a higher price obviously. It was 11:00 pm after a long indian train ride! So he brought us to his neighbours guesthouse and wanted us to pay a lot more than the charge for his rooms. When we told him that this is an unprofessional behavior (in the end it was his fault he messed up the bookings) he was laughing at us and was really rude. There was no apologize or offerings from his side. And also he told the neighbours that we are unfriendly persons who knocked on his door in the middle of the night without any bookings.
Our recommendations: don’t go there or even think about booking any room at this unprofessional and unfriendly...
